Geek Peek: First Images Of ‘The Magnificent Seven’ Starring Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt Released

Last week, CinemaCon attendees were treated to the first look at the Antoine Fuqua-directed remake of The Magnificent Seven. The original film was released back in 1960, and starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach, and James Coburn. Such legendary actors gathering together for a great film, its reimagining would at least have to match that all-star caliber. And as such, it was announced that Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Byung-hun Lee would be starring in the film. With names like that, it looks like they got the job done on paper at least.
Now Sony has released the first official set of images of the cast in their western getups, and plans on releasing the first trailer tomorrow. Check out the images below.

Peter Sarsgaard To Play Main Villain In ‘The Magnificent Seven’ Remake As Jason Momoa Departs
|
 |

MGM has found their primary villain for the upcoming remake of The Magnificent Seven, which already features a great cast consisting of Denzel Washington (Glory, American Gangster), Ethan Hawke (Before Sunset, Boyhood), Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World), Vincent D’Onofrio (Men In Black, Daredevil), Wagner Moura (Elysium, Elite Squad), Haley Bennett (Marley & Me, The Equalizer), and Matt Bomer (White Collar, Magic Mike).
The studio has chosen Peter Sarsgaard to be the film’s biggest bad guy, a robber baron named Bartholomew Bogue. But while they’ve found their primary antagonist, the movie is also losing a villain. Game of Thrones and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Jason Momoa was also recently reported to be in negotiations for a role, but now it’s being said that the actor is no longer attached to the project. Whether his duties playing Aquaman conflicted with the shooting schedule, he simply decided he didn’t want the role, or something else caused the departure is not known for sure at the moment.

Jason Momoa Joins ‘The Magnificent Seven’; ‘Terminator Genisys’ Star Also Cast

Another actor has entered into negotiations to join the cast of The Magnificent Seven, MGM’s upcoming remake of the 1960 western of the same name that starred Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen among many others.
Jason Momoa, who is best known for his roles in Stargate: Atlantis, Marcus Nispel’s Conan the Barbarian remake, and as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones (until he makes his debut as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice anyway), is the latest actor to become attached to the movie. Momoa would play one of the film’s villains if everything works out, though no details on who exactly that might be is not yet known. All that is known is that it’s not the primary antagonist, a role that has not been cast at the moment.
