| NYCC 2019: First Look At The New Unnamed ‘Walking Dead’ Universe Series
The Walking Dead Universe is expanding, and the folks from AMC shared a first look at a panel discussion with the cast at this year’s New York Comic-Con of the upcoming third new series, which will be released in spring 2020. Centering on a group of teenagers who grew up safe behind walls during the apocalypse, showrunner Matt Negrete shared that he found inspiration for this coming-of-age story from 1980s classics like Stand By Me while incorporating the real danger of the zombie apocalypse.

At some point, it’s likely that Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) will be discovered, but the journey that leads us to this final place is to be determined. And while the show has never been in a place where it hesitates to inch the viewers closer towards this end, tomorrow is still out there for the Jennings. However, by the end of “Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow,” that tomorrow is less promised than before – as we’re given a cliffhanger that’s largely unlike what we’re accustomed to seeing on the show.
