For those who stuck with The Walking Dead for the past nine seasons, the series’ latest episode marked a very forlorn moment for fans. It was Andrew Lincoln‘s final episode on the lengthy zombie apocalypse drama. We knew this was coming, considering it was highly reported; however, it doesn’t look like the actor’s ready to join the walker crew. That’s because he is confirmed to appear in three The Walking Dead original TV movies for AMC. What could these movies be about and why is he staying around if he wanted to leave the show? More on this below. Spoilers will follow. So don’t say I didn’t warn you if you didn’t see the last episode, which aired last night.

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Season 6…
The Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead aired tonight, and as we expected, Negan finally made his first on-screen appearance, and yes, it was terrifying and there were grave consequences.
We left off last week with what looked to be Daryl getting shot by Dwight, one of Negan’s men he had encountered and saved earlier in the season. Dwight turned out to be a backstabber, and Daryl spent the rest of the season lamenting that he let the man live, especially after Dwight used Daryl’s own crossbow to kill Denise. This was supposed to be the shocking cliffhanger, because we didn’t know if this meant that Daryl was dead.
At the start of the season 6 finale, “Last Day On Earth,†we of course do not get any resolution as to what happened to Daryl, or the fate of Glenn, Michonne, and Rosita, who were also taken captive by Dwight and his fellow Saviors. Instead, we get Morgan finding Carol, as well as Rick and several others from the Alexandria Safe Zone trying to get Maggie to the doctor at the Hilltop.

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Season 6…
This week’s The Walking Dead, Episode 6.15, “East,†deals with the aftermath of Carol’s unexpected departure from the Alexandria Safe Zone, as well as Daryl’s need to avenge Denise’s death and set things right.
After the previous episode, it becomes obvious that a new battle will begin between the Alexandrians and Negan’s Saviors. But Carol has been struggling recently with the fact that her human kill count is well into the double digits. At this point, she feels like she can no longer kill. And she won’t kill. So, she plans to leave her friends at the Safe Zone, but for what we do not know. Talk about bad timing.
Meanwhile, Daryl is struggling with Denise’s death at the hands of Dwight, one of the Saviors who he had previously tried to help even after the man took him captive. Daryl feels like if he had killed Dwight when he had the chance, then Denise would still be alive. He wants revenge. He wants to finish Dwight like he should have before, and feels that he was soft to let the man live.

TV Review: The Walking Dead 6.4 “Here’s Not Here”

The Walking Dead
Episode 6.4 “Here’s Not Here”
Directed by Stephen Williams
Written by Scott M. Gimple
Starring Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Lauren Cohen, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, John Carroll Lynch
AMC
Air date: Sunday, November 1, 2015, 9pm
Tonight’s The Walking Dead, Episode 6.4 “Here’s Not Here,†was undoubtedly one of the best and most profound episodes of the series. Unfortunately, it came at the worst time. Last week’s installment saw the possible and likely death of a beloved character, and everyone wants to know what the hell happened. But that’s not where this fourth episode begins.
Episode 6.4 is all about Morgan (Lennie James), a great character for sure. Since Season 1, Morgan has been an endearing part of the series, and every time he’s made a return, it was a welcomed one — even back in Season 3 when Rick and Michonne find him and he’s apparently lost his mind.

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Episode 6.2 “JSS.”
Last week’s Season 6 premiere of The Walking Dead, Episode 6.1 “Last Time Again” filled in the gaps of what happened right after the events of the Season 5 finale, and what’s happening now with Rick Grimes and the residents Alexandria Safe Zone. While outside the community walls, Rick and Morgan discovered how it is that the Safe Zone has yet to invaded by Walkers — the undead in the surrounding area have become trapped at the bottom of nearby granite quarry.
While anyone else would be thrilled to know that the Walkers are contained, Rick isn’t, because he’s practical. He knows that it’s only a matter of time before the quarry barricade is breached, and the Walkers come knocking at the walls of the Safe Zone. It took some convincing, but eventually everyone came on board with Rick’s new plan to be proactive and corral the Walkers to an area 20 miles away. The plan was, Miraculously, working… until it wasn’t anymore when a blaring horn began sounding, leading the Walkers away and back towards the Safe Zone.

The Walking Dead
Episode 6.1 “First Time Again”
Directed by Greg Nicotero
Written by Scott M. Gimple & Matthew Negrete
Starring Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohen, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James
AMC

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Episode 6.1 “First Time Again.”
The end of Season 5 of The Walking Dead taught us that even after all the horrors people have faced in this post-apocalyptic world, that not only is redemption possible, but so is the ability to trust. In the premiere of Season 6, these themes are continued. Plus, it’s confirmed that, more than ever, Rick Grimes is always right.
The second part of Season 5 was centered on Rick and his conflict with the residents of the Alexandria Safe Zone. The residents had been hold up in the community since the beginning of the zombie outbreak, so they have no experience actually combatting the Walkers, and they find Rick’s survival tactics to be overly aggressive. Meanwhile, Rick thinks the Zonies are too complacent, and that is what will eventually get them all killed.
The 90-minute Season 6 premiere, “First Time Again,†is broken up between black and white flashbacks to the events starting from the minutes right after the Season 5 finale, and present-day Safe Zone, where, thankfully, everyone is finally on the same page.
