Warning – SPOILERS for AMC’s The Walking Dead…
We haven’t had a new episode of The Walking Dead since December’s mid-Season 8 finale, which ended with both hope and sadness for Rick Grimes and his group, as well as for the fans. There was just one thing on everyone’s mind going into tonight’s mid-season premiere, Episode 8.9 “Honor,” and that was, is this really the end for Carl?
Rick’s teenaged son — who we’ve watched grow up on the show from a little boy who wouldn’t stay in the house like he was told to the natural leader he’s become — was bitten by a walker in the previous episode. And the bite was not on an appendage that could be amputated to avoid death, like we’ve seen before. No, this bite is on his torso, which, in this universe, means certain death. But by the previous episode’s end, Carl was not yet dead. Could that mean that there is a way for him to cheat death?

Warning – SPOILERS for AMC’s The Walking Dead…
Last week’s episode of The Walking Dead saw Carl sneak into the Sanctuary and immediately get captured by Negan, who spent the entire time showing the boy how powerful he is. At the end, Negan took Carl back to Alexandria, where he found baby Judith and considered possibly settling down there. At the Sanctuary, captive Daryl got an opportunity for escape. Rick and Aaron took off to scavenge for Negan; Michonne went off on a secret mission of her own; Spencer’s knowledge of Latin came in handy; and Eugene made a single bullet for Rosita.

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Season 6…
The Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead aired tonight, and as we expected, Negan finally made his first on-screen appearance, and yes, it was terrifying and there were grave consequences.
We left off last week with what looked to be Daryl getting shot by Dwight, one of Negan’s men he had encountered and saved earlier in the season. Dwight turned out to be a backstabber, and Daryl spent the rest of the season lamenting that he let the man live, especially after Dwight used Daryl’s own crossbow to kill Denise. This was supposed to be the shocking cliffhanger, because we didn’t know if this meant that Daryl was dead.
At the start of the season 6 finale, “Last Day On Earth,” we of course do not get any resolution as to what happened to Daryl, or the fate of Glenn, Michonne, and Rosita, who were also taken captive by Dwight and his fellow Saviors. Instead, we get Morgan finding Carol, as well as Rick and several others from the Alexandria Safe Zone trying to get Maggie to the doctor at the Hilltop.

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Season 6…
This week’s The Walking Dead, Episode 6.14,”Twice As Far,” slowed things down a bit after the insanity that happened last week when Carol and Maggie were taken hostage by a small sect of The Saviors. Carol once again proved that she is a powerhouse, but her fierceness and highly tuned survival skills have come at a cost, one that she doesn’t seem to want to pay anymore.
But, if you’re a fan of this AMC series, then you know that when you have 45 minutes of quiet, shit is going to go down in the last 15 minutes, and that’s what happened this time around, too.

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Season 6…
On The Walking Dead last week, it became clear that the residents at the Alexandria Safe Zone were in dire need of food, and a way to produce more food. Rick and Daryl went out on a supply run, and instead of coming back with the grain they so desperately need for survival, they return with a man named Jesus, who, at that point, they didn’t know whether they could trust him.
By the end of the episode, fear and survival were put on hold so that Rick and Michonne can spend the night together, much to the delight of Walking Dead fans the world over! But, the morning after, instead of being able to bask in the afterglow of their love, they awake to Jesus standing at the foot of their bed wanting to talk.
In this week’s installment, Episode 6.11 “Knots Untie,” it’s time for Jesus to do some explaining. Who is he? Where is he from? And what does he want?

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Season 6″¦
Seriously”¦”¦”¦ SPOILERS”¦”¦
Episode 6.8, “Start To Finish,” is the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead, which means we’ll have to wait till February to find out what happened to the residents of the Alexandria Safe Zone after the latest Walker attack. Because AMC loves to torture us.
The Alexandria Safe Zone was supposed to be a piece of paradise inside the hell on earth that exists in the post-apocalyptic Walking Dead universe. But, as Tara and Rosita say in this episode, a place like this comes with a price. Many have died already, and now, it seems that their existence at the Safe Zone might, in fact, be “over.”
Rick and his group have gone from place to place trying to find a real home to settle in: First, it was their crude encampment with the RV. Then there was Hershel’s idyllic farm, but it wasn’t a stronghold. The Governor infiltrated the confines of the Prison, and the too-good-to-be-true Terminus turned out to be a cannibal holocaust. The Alexandria Safe Zone was supposed to be their final destination, a true safe haven that was protected against the walkers, as well as a throwback to life before the dead began rising. But, that throwback proved to be a little too much comfort. Without a common enemy to fight (i.e., the Walkers), the Alexandrians got caught up in too much drama. It seems as though the residents let their human squabbles blind them to the point where they forgot that the end of the world had come, and the time for such trivialities was long passed.

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Episode 6.2 “JSS.”
Last week’s Season 6 premiere of The Walking Dead, Episode 6.1 “Last Time Again” filled in the gaps of what happened right after the events of the Season 5 finale, and what’s happening now with Rick Grimes and the residents Alexandria Safe Zone. While outside the community walls, Rick and Morgan discovered how it is that the Safe Zone has yet to invaded by Walkers — the undead in the surrounding area have become trapped at the bottom of nearby granite quarry.
While anyone else would be thrilled to know that the Walkers are contained, Rick isn’t, because he’s practical. He knows that it’s only a matter of time before the quarry barricade is breached, and the Walkers come knocking at the walls of the Safe Zone. It took some convincing, but eventually everyone came on board with Rick’s new plan to be proactive and corral the Walkers to an area 20 miles away. The plan was, Miraculously, working… until it wasn’t anymore when a blaring horn began sounding, leading the Walkers away and back towards the Safe Zone.

Warning – SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Episode 6.1 “First Time Again.”
The end of Season 5 of The Walking Dead taught us that even after all the horrors people have faced in this post-apocalyptic world, that not only is redemption possible, but so is the ability to trust. In the premiere of Season 6, these themes are continued. Plus, it’s confirmed that, more than ever, Rick Grimes is always right.
The second part of Season 5 was centered on Rick and his conflict with the residents of the Alexandria Safe Zone. The residents had been hold up in the community since the beginning of the zombie outbreak, so they have no experience actually combatting the Walkers, and they find Rick’s survival tactics to be overly aggressive. Meanwhile, Rick thinks the Zonies are too complacent, and that is what will eventually get them all killed.
The 90-minute Season 6 premiere, “First Time Again,” is broken up between black and white flashbacks to the events starting from the minutes right after the Season 5 finale, and present-day Safe Zone, where, thankfully, everyone is finally on the same page.
