Betty White

Did you catch Betty White tonight in the Super Bowl ad for the NBC show The Voice? I know, she’s awesome at everything.

But White isn’t done with the Super Bowl just yet, though. The 90-year-old actress, who stars in the TV Land sitcom Hot In Cleveland, recorded a congratulatory message for the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants with a little warning about what to expect next year.

You can watch White’s video message to the Giants here below.

One of the trickier names to try and adapt for the big screen has been Dr. Seuss. Be it the fallible live-action takes on The Grinch and The Cat In The Hat or the shockingly watchable Horton Hears A Who, the big screen takes on Seuss’ works have been hit or miss.

And now it’s The Lorax‘s turn.

The first trailer for the upcoming Chris Renaud-directed take on the tale has hit, and it is quite stunning. Watch it here below.

Dr. Seuss’s ‘The Lorax’ Gets A Cast; First Image Released

Next up on the list of Dr. Seuss‘s classic stories to adapt is The Lorax.

Things began with live-adaptations of How The Grinch Stole Christmas, which was decent, and The Cat in the Hat, which was forgettable. After that, it was decided to try the computer animated path with a Horton Hears A Who! movie that could be considered the best of the Dr. Seuss movies we’ve seen, if not on par with The Grinch.

Sadly, none of these movies have risen beyond being just average fun to being great, but can all of that change with The Lorax?

The movie will use the same computer animated style of Horton Hears A Who! and now has an entertaining voice cast to help bring it to life.

Click on over to the other side to see who’s voicing who, and to get your first peek at the Lorax in all of his computer animated glory.

prep & landingLast year, Disney premiered Prep & Landing, a half-hour television special about an elite unit of Santa’s Elves known as Prep & Landing.

Walt Disney Animation Studios is planning to bring the unit back in a 7-minute animated short called Prep & Landing: Operation: Secret Santa, with Betty White as the voice of Mrs. Claus.

Prep & Landing: Operation: Secret Santa will air on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) during the holiday classic A Charlie Brown Christmas. Both programs will repeat on Thursday, December 16 from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET.

The original Prep & Landing was the first television special produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and premiered last December.

Aside from being from Disney, which is enough right there to get me to check it out, the original Christmas special also had Dave Foley as the voice of Wayne, one of the elite elves, and Foley is back for this new adventure! I totally loved the first Prep & Landing and was hoping by now it would be out on DVD, as I think it’s a great holiday story that I’d love to see every year. I actually still have it saved on my DVR (luckily!), and have watched it a few times already, so I’m really looking forward to this follow-up. I only wish it was longer than just 7 minutes.

Rue McClanahan

Rue McClanahan, one of the stars of the hit 1980s TV show The Golden Girls, has died at the age of 76. The actress had been in bad shape lately after suffering a small stroke earlier this year following a bypass surgery that she underwent, and it was a massive stroke early this morning that proved too much for her body to handle.

Rue was incredibly popular as Blanche Devereaux on The Golden Girls, which ran from 1985 to 1992 and still airs reruns every single day, but despite the fact that she might not have been in the spotlight as much as the other ladies, McClanahan certainly did so much more than that one show in her long career.
