| ‘The Lion King’ Cast Share Their Experiences Making The Photorealistic Reimagining |
|
Disney’s The Lion King (2019) may be a near reflection of the animated original, but director Jon Favreau’s use of groundbreaking and innovative Photo Real technology allows audiences to experience a familiar story in a whole new way. But not only did Favreau use these sets of tools for the reimagining, but he also brought in a cast that would help carry the film. Comprised of mostly black actors, this new take on The Lion King is a celebration of African culture and an opportunity for young black children to feel that they matter. Geeks Of Doom joined their fellow journalists at the global press conference of The Lion King where Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Keegan-Michael Key, Florence Kasumba, Eric Andre, John Kani, JD McCrary, and Shahadi Wright Joseph shared their own experience making the film, being able to improv and riff, the legacy of the animated original, identity, and so much more. Check out what they had to say here below.

| ‘The Lion King’ TV Spot: Hear Beyoncé As Nala
The marketing campaign for Disney’s upcoming The Lion King has relied a lot more on the visual than the auditory. We haven’t heard much from the cast, at least not directly. Any dialogue heard came from characters that are out of sight. But that all changes with this new TV spot which reveals Beyoncé Knowles as the voice of Nala. Check out the TV Spot below.

| Grammys 2017: Winners & Highlights: Metallica, Lady Gaga, Prince, A Tribe Called Quest |
|
The Grammys were held on Sunday night, February 12, 2017, and hosted by James Corden at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, with the live broadcast on CBS starting at 8pm EST (5pm PST). Below are some of the highlights and clips from the broadcast of The 59th Annual Grammy Awards, along with the full list of Grammy winners at the end. Here’s my usual official Grammys warning: I hate country music, I strongly dislike pop music, and I mostly have no idea about new music that’s not hard rock or heavy metal. I can, though, be objective when talking about a performance when it happens to be really good. With that, when I say I’m writing about the “highlights,” well, it’s the highlights according to me, a metalhead who watched the Grammys, a show that doesn’t even bother to televise the Heavy Metal category. With all of the deaths in the music world in 2016, I was sure that there’d be a lot of tributes, and I was intrigued by the tease of the Metallica and Lady Gaga team-up. Turns out, this year was mostly a snooze-fest, but there were some energetic performances that made up for everything else.

| Bradley Cooper In Talks To Direct ‘A Star Is Born’
Back in 2011 Clint Eastwood was tapped to direct a remake of A Star is Born, with Beyoncé Knowles starring as the lead character who is being given career advice by a washed-up self-destructive icon. But that was before the singer and actress got pregnant, and as a result of that, the film quickly dissolved. Eastwood would eventually move onto Jersey Boys, which got quickly panned by critics. But the film that the director was hoping to get made, has now fallen into the hands of an actor that appeared in one of his films. American Sniper star Bradley Cooper is in talks to make his directorial debut helming the film. He is also reportedly trying to bring Beyoncé back to the project as well. Hit the jump for more.
