Dwayne Johnson

Like most movie remake news, it is unwelcomed. No matter who is attached or who stars in it, fans will speak out against the remake project, especially when it comes to cult films. So when word got out that Dwayne Johnson would be involved in the remake of Big Trouble In Little China, fans were especially displeased. But Johnson has proved himself to be a leading man on the big screen, and that he can also share the spotlight with a star-studded cast. He is even showing fans of the original that he has the best intentions, by asking John Carpenter himself to work on the film.

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson has proven himself to be a viable movie star thanks in part to the $53 million weekend opening that his latest feature San Andreas posted. Now the actor is set to star and produce a remake of John Carpenter’s Big Trouble In Little China, which will be written by X-Men: First Class scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. More on this story below.

According to The Wrap, Johnson will play the role of Jack Burton, “an All-American trucker who gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in San Francisco’s Chinatown.”

Hellbreak

I recently had the chance to ask Cullen Bunn and Brian Churilla a few questions about Hellbreak and some of their other projects. I’ve long been a fan of Cullen, but I’m only recently discovering Brian, thanks in no small part to The Sixth Gun mini-series Sons Of The Gun they did together and the Big Trouble In Little China series. Getting the skinny on their newest collaboration was awesome, to say the least.

If you haven’t checked this amazing new comic out, I urge you to do so. The premise is awesome and it looks like it’s going to be a great run! If you missed my review of the first one, you can find it here.

So, without any more delays, here’s what went down with Cullen!

Welcome, my friends, to Big Trouble In Little China #3! Twenty-eight years ago, one of the finest action comedies to ever grace the silver screen was released. And apparently it was so awesome that it took this long to create a suitable followup to the film. This third issue, in what has to be one of the funniest comics around, is a worthy sequel to John Carpenter‘s masterpiece. Of course, the first issue got a wonderful review from GoD’s PS Hayes, so make sure you check it out, too.
