A Very Murray Christmas

We’re in the middle of the Halloween season and many of us (myself included) are waist-deep in horror flicks right now, but Netflix wants to start getting everyone in the Christmas spirit even earlier than usual with the first teaser trailer for A Very Murray Christmas. At a quick 30 seconds in length, this is acceptable. Plus, Bill Murray.

The special stars Murray with many guest appearances, including George Clooney, Chris Rock, Miley Cyrus, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzman, Michael Cera, Maya Rudolph, Rashida Jones, Paul Shaffer, and Phoenix. It comes from Academy Award winning Lost in Translation and The Virgin Suicides director Sofia Coppola.

You can read more about A Very Murray Christmas and check out the teaser trailer below.

Paperback | Kindle
By Robert Schnakenberg
Quirk Books
Release date: September 15, 2015

A great, small coffee table tome has just been released called The Big, Bad Book of Bill Murray, touting and lauding all things about (who else?) Bill Murray, the comedy monarch who has endeared himself to scores of generations with his snappy, sloppy, and slick persona through films such as Meatballs, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Stripes, Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation, What About Bob, The Life Aquatic, and scores of others, right up to the upcoming Rock the Casbah this Autumn. And like the man itself, this full-color paperback from Quirk Books is sprawling, unconventional, hilarious, and wonderful.

Ghostbusters

Whenever a reboot or remake happens, sometimes the original stars appear in some sort of cameo as a nod to its fans. In Paul Feig‘s new vision of Ghostbusters starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon, a few of the surviving members of the original film are coming back in a cameo capacity. Dan Aykroyd was the first to be announced, followed by a surprising confirmation of Bill Murray’s participation. Murray was the last person anyone would have thought to have joined this film, mostly because he didn’t want to concede to do a Ghostbusters 3.

Now he is revealing why he decided to be in the new Ghostbusters. Check out his explanation here below.

Disney The Jungle Book live-action film title card

Disney’s recent turn to modernize their animated classics by giving them a live-action adaptation has been a successful product thus far. With Maleficent and Cinderella already proving to be box office hits, the studio shows no signs of slowing down, by releasing more of these adaptations. Perhaps the most interesting of all the adaptations would be The Jungle Book. Now, it’s not interesting in a perplexing manner, but in how they approached the production of the film. The adaptation combines live-action and CGI to form a beautiful story, based on the animated film and Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel.

During the film’s presentation at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, today, director Jon Favreau talked about the production of The Jungle Book, with his cast Ben Kingsley, who voices Bagheera; Lupita Nyong’O, who voices the protective mother wolf Raksha; and newcomer Neel Sethi, who plays the human lead Mowgli.

More on the production of the film as well as description of the footage here below.
