We’re in the middle of the Halloween season and many of us (myself included) are waist-deep in horror flicks right now, but Netflix wants to start getting everyone in the Christmas spirit even earlier than usual with the first teaser trailer for A Very Murray Christmas. At a quick 30 seconds in length, this is acceptable. Plus, Bill Murray. The special stars Murray with many guest appearances, including George Clooney, Chris Rock, Miley Cyrus, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzman, Michael Cera, Maya Rudolph, Rashida Jones, Paul Shaffer, and Phoenix. | First Trailer For Disney’s Live-Action ‘The Jungle Book’ Released
The first teaser trailer for Walt Disney’s live-action re-telling of Rudyard Kipling‘s classic story The Jungle Book has been released. The movie is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Elf), and stars Scarlett Johansson as Kaa (who does the voice over used in the trailer), Bill Murray as Baloo, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Neel Sethi as Mowgli, Christopher Walken as King Louie, and Giancarlo Esposito as Akela. | Bill Murray Explains His ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Cameo
Whenever a reboot or remake happens, sometimes the original stars appear in some sort of cameo as a nod to its fans. In Paul Feig‘s new vision of Ghostbusters starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon, a few of the surviving members of the original film are coming back in a cameo capacity. Dan Aykroyd was the first to be announced, followed by a surprising confirmation of Bill Murray’s participation. Murray was the last person anyone would have thought to have joined this film, mostly because he didn’t want to concede to do a Ghostbusters 3. Disney’s recent turn to modernize their animated classics by giving them a live-action adaptation has been a successful product thus far. With Maleficent and Cinderella already proving to be box office hits, the studio shows no signs of slowing down, by releasing more of these adaptations. Perhaps the most interesting of all the adaptations would be The Jungle Book. Now, it’s not interesting in a perplexing manner, but in how they approached the production of the film. The adaptation combines live-action and CGI to form a beautiful story, based on the animated film and Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel. During the film’s presentation at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, today, director Jon Favreau talked about the production of The Jungle Book, with his cast Ben Kingsley, who voices Bagheera; Lupita Nyong’O, who voices the protective mother wolf Raksha; and newcomer Neel Sethi, who plays the human lead Mowgli.
