| ‘Blade Runner 2’ Adds ‘The Martian,’ ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ Star Mackenzie Davis
The cast of Blade Runner 2 has added another name. Mackenzie Davis, who appeared in Ridley Scott‘s The Martian and stars in the AMC series Halt and Catch Fire, has signed on for a role. Davis joins original Blade Runner star Harrison Ford, who will reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the sequel, and fellow newcomer Ryan Gosling on the cast. Also starring is Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, and Carla Juri.

| Ryan Gosling In Negotiations To Star In ‘Blade Runner 2’
Blade Runner 2 has been in the works for quite some time now, and though not much has been revealed about the sequel, we might finally know who will be starring in the much-anticipated follow-up to Ridley Scott‘s original 1982 movie. Deadline is reporting that actor Ryan Gosling is in talks to join the upcoming movie in a lead role. If this news happens to be true, Gosling will be starring alongside Blade Runner alum, Harrison Ford, who is confirmed to be reprising his role as Rick Deckard.

| Harrison Ford Officially Returning For ‘Blade Runner 2’
It’s been announced that Harrison Ford will be returning to reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the long-planned sequel to director Ridley Scott‘s classic science fiction tale Blade Runner for Alcon Entertainment. Scott won’t be directing Blade Runner 2, however, with Denis Villeneuve currently in negotiations to take over behind the camera for the sequel. Villeneuve is known for directing Prisoners, Enemy, the upcoming Sicario, and Incendies, which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. | Ridley Scott Expresses Strong Desire To See Harrison Ford In ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel
Clearly there is a call for Harrison Ford to reprise his character in Ridley Scott‘s planned sequel for Blade Runner. But Alcon Entertainment, the studio behind the film, continues to deny that there are any talks happening that would include the actor’s presence in the movie. Scott, however, continues to say that there is a possibility that we could see Ford come back. But a recent interview with The Independent confirms that no talks have happened, but that isn’t stopping Scott from voicing his request to see Harry in the Blade Runner sequel.

| New ‘Blade Runner’ Film Officially A Sequel; Original Screenwriter On Board
You would be hard pressed not to hear any questions about the new Blade Runner film during the press tour for Ridley Scott‘s forthcoming Prometheus. There was a debate amongst fans if the film should be a sequel, a prequel, or something along the lines of Prometheus, but a new press release from Alcon Entertainment confirms for the first time that the film will be a sequel. It also offers a few new details about the film. Hampton Francher, the original screenwriter who penned the first Blade Runner, has been hired to develop, not write, an original story, according to Warner Bros. As some of you may know, Blade Runner is based on Philip K. Dick‘s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? So just how original the story is while staying true to Dick’s universe remains to be seen.
