The first images from Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson‘s planned trilogy adaptation of The Adventures of Tintin have been released online.

The performance-capture films will begin with the Spielberg-directed The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, which is set for release on December 28, 2011. The opening film is a combination of three stories — The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn, and Red Rackham’s Treasure — follows Tintin (Jamie Bell), a young reporter who meets a man known as Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis), and the two discover a clue that might lead to a treasure belonging to Haddock’s great ancestor.

Now comes our first peek at what the movie will look like by way of Empire Magazine. It’s nothing too surprising here — the movies look like the classic Tintin with a nice performance-capture/CGI makeover, and that was exactly the idea.

Back in July the first teaser trailer for Saw VII, now known as Saw 3D, was released, but didn’t show a whole lot. Now fans of the franchise have their first real look with the arrival of the first full trailer.

At the time, the movie was said to be called Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive, but thankfully it looks like the sub-title was demoted to a tagline. It was also revealed back in April that Carey Elwes would finally be returning to the world of the Jigsaw killer after his mysterious exit from the original film, and you do get a little glimpse of him in this new trailer.

There was once a time when you might have thought that the two top current rival horror franchises were Saw and Final Destination. After a decade or so the deadly duo are still going head-to-head, only now it’s to determine who can come up with the absolute worst possible title for their latest installments. And as you can plainly see for yourself, both are making a valiant effort in obtaining the crown.

At the end of June, it was revealed that the title for the new Final Destination would actually be 5nal Destination. So what could the title of the latest chapter in Jigsaw killer saga be? It could and apparently will be Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive. Even better — this news from Shock Till You Drop has been confirmed by Lionsgate themselves.

The Beatles

Not too long ago it was reported that the king of motion capture, Robert Zemeckis, would be remaking The Beatles‘ animated film, Yellow Submarine, using the technology. Now this new project has its cast of four actors who will be offering their voices to the movie as the four legendary Beatles.

The trades are reporting that Cary Elwes, Dean Lennox Kelly, Peter Serafinowicz, and Adam Campbell are all in negotiations for the roles (Click image to see all four in comparison). Elwes is the best known of the bunch with his roles in movies like The Princess Bride and Robin Hood: Men in Tights; he would be voicing George Harrison. Peter Serafinowicz isn’t a household name here in the States, but you may know him better than you think. He’s very popular overseas and has appeared as Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s flatmate in Shaun of the Dead, as well as on the popular series Spaced. Serafinowicz would be handling the voice of Paul McCartney. Lennox Kelly would be appearing as John Lennon in the film, and has appeared in The Secret Life of Words as well as popular shows Doctor Who and Robin Hood. Finally, Campbell would be voicing Ringo Starr; he appeared in the recent TV show Harper’s Island, and is looking to find more forgiveness for previous roles in the hated Epic Movie and Date Movie.

Click on over to the other side to watch a couple of videos of Peter Serafinowicz showing off why he landed a role.
