| First Look At The ‘Community’ Dungeons & Dragons Episode
This Thursday, the NBC comedy Community will enter the world of Dungeons & Dragons when the gang befriends a loner, inviting him into their group for a game of Advanced D&D. NBC has released a promo still from the episode, which shows Pierce (Chevy Chase) studying up for the game with a D&D manual. Check out the image here below, along with a synopsis of the episode, including everyone’s D&D character names. The show’s creator, Dan Harmon, has said that the episode will not see the group dressed in D&D garb or entering some kind of magical fantasy world. Instead, the gang will be gathered around a table, but this is Community — even the shows where they never leave the study room are great. The episode, titled “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons,” airs on NBC on this Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 8PM ET/PT.

| Presidents, Assemble! Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey, Chevy Chase & Others Give Barack Obama Advice
Funny or Die is known for their hilarious videos — many of which feature well-known actors in Saturday Night Live-like sketches. Recently, the site released a new video directed by Ron Howard that reunited a bunch of SNL alumni and some special guests for a message about the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. The hopes here is that this message will reach the eyes of President Barack Obama and help him with some majorly important decisions. SNL is renowned for always having someone who creates a comical caricature of whomever the President is at the time for use in the many skits that will be written using that person. Currently, that job is owned by Fred Armisen, who portrays Obama whenever a skit for him is penned. Continue on over to the other side to see the video!

| Writers Hired For New Line’s ‘Vacation’ Reboot; Chevy Chase To Return |
 |
Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley have been hired to pen the script for New Line’s planned Vacation sequel/reboot, according to Variety.
While the trade is reporting that New Line is doing a franchise reboot as if that’s new information, this project was actually already confirmed back in early October 2009 with David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) to produce (read Are We Ready For A Sequel To “˜National Lampoon’s Vacation’?). Back in October, New Line announced their intentions for the new Vacation, with Dobkin producing and possibly directing. The new film will be a reboot of the franchise, but also a type of sequel, since it will be about a now-adult Rusty Griswold — the son in the original films — and his own road trip, this time with his own wife and kids. Where to? Wally World theme park, the destination of the first film, which is closing its doors forever. Chevy Chase, who played dad Clark Griswold in the film series, is reportedly returning as the grandfather for the new film. No confirmation yet if Beverly D’Angelo will be “grandma,” though initial reports stated that there was room for her in the film. (Chase and D’Angelo did just recently reprise their roles as the Griswolds for a Home Away commercial and short – Watch Now: Chevy Chase In “˜Hotel Hell Vacation’ Film Short).

| Watch Now: Chevy Chase In ‘Hotel Hell Vacation’ Film Short
If you were watching the Super Bowl last night, then you most likely saw the Home Away commercial with Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo reprising their roles from the Vacation franchise. The commercial is presented as if it’s a teaser trailer for a short film — the film itself is online at the Home Away site. You can watch the 14-minute short, titled Hotel Hell Vacation, here below. I’ve also embedded the Super Bowl commercial, but I recommend skipping it in favor of watching the entire short film (the commercial just doesn’t do it justice). At first the mini-movie seems like it’s a dud, as one of the early scenes with the Valet is not so funny. But stick with it, trust me, it gets quite humorous after that. I’ve traveled a lot, so I can relate to the ludicrous scenarios presented in the movie. Plus, it’s great to see Chase and D’Angelo back on screen as the vacation-jinxed Griswolds.
