| The GoD List: Comics For November 16, 2011 |
|
Each and every week “The Guy That Won’t Stop Tweeting About Felicity” MK2Fac3 and “Give Me An O!” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of November 16, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. Okay, so Felicity is a really great show, you guys. It’s about a college-aged girl’s growth as a person when she goes to college in New York City, a long way away from her hometown of Palo Alto, California. In my humble opinion, it’s the spiritual follow up to one of my favorite shows of all time, My So-Called Life. I’m still in the first season, but I can’t stop watching it, nor can I stop talking about it. Hence, what I’m writing right now. It’s a J.J. Abrams show, and you can absolutely tell. It’s not science fiction, but there’s a lot of fun to be had. Also, it’s streaming on Netflix Instant Watch, so you should totally check it out. Oh wait, I’m not reviewing Felicity? I’m supposed to be talking about comics? This is The GoD List! Well, let’s get to it!

For those who haven’t been paying attention to this site, we’ve covered Key of Z pretty much since its inception when we interviewed both Claudio Sanchez and Chondra Echert at last year’s New York Comic-Con when it was still known as Subway Seriez up to this past month when we interviewed the writers again to revisit the series and see what else was coming up. They’ve always been super generous, kind, and open to me. So, that makes viewing the comic objectively extremely hard. It’s because of this, and the fact that Sanchez’s band Coheed and Cambria is my favorite band of all time, that I am extremely hard on their books when I read them. That said, I adored the team’s previous work Kill Audio and I love Key of Z #1.

| NYCC 2011 Video Interview: Claudio Sanchez & Chondra Echert From Evil Ink ComicsMost everyone in the geek world knows that New York Comic-Con is going on this weekend and it just so happens that one of my favorite comic book companies, Evil Ink!, is here to sell merch and sling comics! Luckily, I got a chance to catch up with Claudio Sanchez (of Coheed and Cambria) and Chondra Echert on their upcoming book Key of Z on the convention floor at Booth 1345 about the new comic, what they’re looking forward to seeing at the convention, and what they’ve got coming up. You can watch my video interview here below. Now, the audio quality on the video is a little off, so before you take to the comments section to tell me that I should have been looking at the camera or using a mic, I totally agree with you. My bad, it will never happen again. So, to save you the ear strain, I wanted to tell you about some of the high points from the interview, and they are listed here below.

| BOOM! Studios To Bring ‘Key of Z’ To NYCC
BOOM! Studios and Evil Ink! Comics began rolling out their New York Comic-Con schedule this week, and one of the most prominent releases is Chondra Echert and Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez‘s Key of Z comic book series. The comic stars Nick Ewing, a man who has lost everything as a result of gang warfare in a zombie-infected New York City. Which, yes, we’ve seen a lot of stories about surviving in a post apocalyptic world, and more specifically, stories about surviving the impending Zombie Apocalypse. But one thing that makes this one stand out is that this isn’t a survival story, it’s a revenge story.
