The upcoming next installment in the Jurassic Park franchise has found itself a music maestro. It’s being reported that Michael Giacchino, who won an Academy Award for his work on the Pixar hit Up, will compose the score for the movie, which is titled Jurassic World.

| First Images From ‘Jurassic World’ Set Arrive
Filming on the next movie in the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World, just commenced recently, so of course some pictures have been snapped by those working on the movie. Thankfully for us, a trio of those first images from the set have been released. They don’t show much, but do provide a nice little tease to keep excitement up. The first shows star Bryce Dallas Howard in character filming a scene; the second shows a banged up construction truck with a familiar logo on it; the third just shows a chair…but a chair most of us wish we were sitting in right now. | ‘Jurassic World’ Director Colin Trevorrow Talks Sequels, Animatronic Dinosaurs, Characters
Universal’s Jurassic World is already in production, with Colin Trevorrow sitting in the director’s chair. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Johnson, Ty Simpkins, Omar Sy, and more all star in the film that could, possibly, be the beginning of a new franchise. The film, although considered a reboot, will stay within the continuity of the Jurassic Park film franchise established by Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park: The Lost World) and Joe Johnson (Jurassic Park III). Now Trevorrow is talking about the reboot, sequels, some of the characters, and the animatronic dinosaurs that will be used in the film. Hit the jump to read what he had to say.

| ‘Jurassic Park’ Actor Confirmed For ‘Jurassic World’ |

One of the first things that came to mind when hearing about the next Jurassic Park movie, titled Jurassic World, was whether or not any familiar actors/characters from previous installments would be finding themselves surrounded by genetically engineered dinosaurs once again. The answer to this question is yes, at least one familiar face will be returning…though probably not someone you’d expect. In Michael Crichton’s original novel the character Dr. Henry Wu, the rock star geneticist brought in by John Hammond and tasked with bringing dinosaurs back to life, is an important one. In Steven Spielberg’s 1993 movie adaptation, his role was much, much smaller. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that Wu, played by the same actor who played him in the ’93 movie, BD Wong, will be back. | ‘Jurassic World’ Will Shoot On Film Stock; Will Also Use 65MM
Briefly: Some major studios are no longer using film stock to shoot their films, although Paramount is giving exception to Chris Nolan’s Interstellar, but for the most part, digital is the new way to shoot movies. However Jurassic World won’t follow suit. Director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that he will shoot Jurassic World on film stock, but to make things even more exciting, portions of the film will also be shot on 65mm. For those that don’t know it’s a wide-resolution shot that is typically associated with IMAX. So if you’ve seen The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, or The Master, then you know how exciting this confirmation is. The Amazing Spider-Man‘s John Schwartzman will be the film’s cinematographer. The news was confirmed on Trevorrow’s Twitter account, which you can read after the jump.
