
Briefly: Some major studios are no longer using film stock to shoot their films, although Paramount is giving exception to Chris Nolan’s Interstellar, but for the most part, digital is the new way to shoot movies. However Jurassic World won’t follow suit.
Director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that he will shoot Jurassic World on film stock, but to make things even more exciting, portions of the film will also be shot on 65mm. For those that don’t know it’s a wide-resolution shot that is typically associated with IMAX. So if you’ve seen The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, or The Master, then you know how exciting this confirmation is. The Amazing Spider-Man‘s John Schwartzman will be the film’s cinematographer.
