| Geek Peek: First Look At Andrew Garfield As Spider-Man! |
 |

The very first official image of Andrew Garfield in (almost) full costume as the web-slinging superhero, Spider-Man, has been released by Sony Pictures and Columbia Pictures, and it may just ease any worries you might have. Spider-Man, which is directed by (500) Days of Summer helmer Marc Webb, is the fastest reboot of a major film property we’ve seen. It was decided to start over after things went south on the production of Spider-Man 4 just a little over a year ago to this day. Not long after that, we found out that Sony would be doing another origins story, starting with Peter Parker in high school before obtaining his powers instead of picking up with a new story within the mythos. This news was frowned upon even further when fans heard that 27-year-old Garfield was cast in the role, making his teenage character harder to swallow (even though Tobey Maguire was right around the same age at the time). Now, with the arrival of this new image of Garfield in his Spidey suit (without the mask, sadly), all skepticism and worry should be calmed. The actor looks perfectly fine as the hero, and the suit looks pretty fantastic…albeit beat up. You can see the full image right now by continuing on below and clicking away.

| Geek Peek: Andrew Garfield As Peter Parker & Emma Stone As Gwen Stacy In ‘Spider-Man’ |

Some spy images from the set of Sony Pictures and Columbia Pictures reboot of their Spider-Man franchise have shown up online. Nothing worth going wacky over in these pictures, but if you’re excited about this new Spidey venture and the castings that have been announced so far, these might be for you. They show star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy sitting in some bleachers at what looks like a high school football field. This is the first look at Garfield as Parker and well…it looks like Andrew Garfield hanging out on some bleachers, so perhaps not the best look we’ll get. You can see some of the first pictures of Garfield and Stone in director Marc Webb‘s Spider-Man by clicking on over to the other side now (more can be found at the source link below). There’s even one of the duo sharing a smooch, you know, for you lovey-dovey type movie fans that are into that sorta thing.

| Marc Webb’s ‘Spider-Man’ Adds Peter Parker’s Parents, New Villain |
 |

The cast for Sony Pictures and Columbia Pictures’ new Spider-Man reboot just keeps on growing and growing, but with most of the major cast spoken for, it’s time to fill in the blanks. It’s being reported that four new actors have been cast in the movie, including Campbell Scott (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Damages), Julianne Nicholson (Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Kinsey), Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire, New York, I Love You), and Annie Parisse (Law & Order, National Treasure). This particular group of castings has Spider-Man fans scratching their heads a bit, wondering if they might spell disaster or if they’re the slight twist this reboot might need. Scott and Nicholson will be playing the mother and father of Peter Parker, Richard and Mary, who are characters only mentioned a few times in comic book lore. In the comics, they were both special agents and recruited by Nick Fury, keeping them away often and their son in the care of Richard’s brother Ben and his wife, May. While investigating the third Red Skull, a hired assassin sabotaged the plane they were traveling on, though this will likely be altered for the movie.

| CONFIRMED: Rhys Ifans Will Be The Lizard In ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot
A few days ago we were informed that the fantastic Rhys Ifans would be playing the villain in Marc Webb‘s new reboot of Spider-Man for Sony and Columbia Pictures. The problem was that they wouldn’t say who exactly Ifans would be playing in the movie. This matched with the news earlier today that Tom Hardy would be in Batman 3, but that his part was also unknown, had us a little fearful that an aggravating Hollywood habit may be forming. But alas, not but a few days later, it has been unearthed just who Ifans will become before he battles Spider-Man to the death, and that, my friends, is The Lizard.
