| Geek Peek: First Image From New ‘Futurama’ Released!
Back in the beginning of March, it was announced that the desperately-wanted return of Futurama would finally make its second series debut on June 24, 2010 at 10pm EST. Now the very first image from the show’s big comeback has been released, and it’s a bit strange. The Matt Groening and David X. Cohen series, which ran for four seasons from 1999 to 2003, was canceled by Fox after they severely-mishandled the show and moved it all over the TV schedule thanks to sporting events and not-so-bright executives. This didn’t sit well with fans, and as you know they’ve been fighting to get it back ever since. A fifth season in the form of four direct-to-DVD movies proved the fan-base was stronger than ever, and the sixth season was finally greenlighted almost one year before it’s scheduled return to your TV. Click on over to check out the gruesome (yet still hilarious) first image from Futurama‘s return!

Krod Mandoon & The Flaming Sword of Fire
DVD
Created by Peter A. Knight
Sean Maguire, Matt Lucas, John Rhys-Davies, Kevin Hart
Comedy Central
Release date: March 23, 2010
In a time when all you had to go on were your brains and your brawn, and warlocks and mythical creatures were around, we find the hero of our story Krod Mandoon. This somewhat insecure but courageous hero is thrown into many situations that would normally take great skill to escape. Fortunately for him and his band of somewhat bumbling misfits, pure dumb luck is on their side as well. Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire is a six-episode miniseries created by Peter A. Knight for BBC Two and Comedy Central. I was not sure what to make of this show when I first saw the advertisement playing on Comedy Central last summer, but I knew one thing for sure, that it looked hilarious. To my surprise it did not disappoint. While having a bit of a slow start (which is to be expected of new shows sometimes) it gradually gets better as it goes. If you love corny and raunchy humor, then you will love this series.

| Death Threats Lead Comedy Central To Censor Controversial ‘South Park’ |
 |

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have always been known for their fearlessness when it comes to saying whatever they want to say, whether in their movies like Team America: World Police, or whether it’s on their highly-popular hit Comedy Central show, South Park. But as you may have heard, some heavy threats have lead to a big uproar and one of the few times we’ve seen the show be censored more so than it needed to be. The animated show has been going strong for over a decade now, currently in their 14th season on the air. Every single season they have made an effort to push the envelope, to try and take just one more step while already under so much scrutiny from censors and angry parents everywhere. And with this, every single season has seen countless jaw-dropping moments where you just can’t help but wonder “how DID they get away with that!?” right before running into yet another shocker. South Park is currently in the midst of closing out the first half of their 14th season, and their plan was to do it with one of their epic multi-episode story arcs. But it is here where the show appears to have gone too far in the eyes of some. Click on over to the other side to see John Stewart’s reaction to this South Park controversy on The Daily Show!

| Eric Cartman’s Cover Of Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’ To Be Released On ‘Rock Band’
If someone were to ask you right this very moment that if you could choose any one song in the whole, wide world to have added to your dearest Rock Band, what would you choose? For those of you who said “I would want Lady Gaga‘s “Poker Face” as performed by Eric Cartman on Comedy Central‘s South Park,” then boy, oh boy do I have a little treat for you! Rock Band has officially announced that along with some actual Lady Gaga songs, they will also be adding Cartman’s beautiful rendition on the tune. The character, who of course is part of Matt Stone and Trey Parker‘s vulgar animated South Park world, sang the song on Rock Band with Kenny and Kyle in the episode “Whale Whores.” After your own night of karaoke, drunkenly stumble your way to the bottom of this post to watch Cartman get lyrical all up on ya’ll.

| New ‘Futurama’ Set To Officially Debut On Comedy Central In June! |
 |

Comedy Central has confirmed what we’ve all been waiting to hear: Futurama will officially be back on your TV sets on June 24 of this year! To catch everyone lost in the dark up: back in 2003, 20th Century Fox was silly and canceled a little show called Futurama way before it should have been canceled…as they have been known to do on occasion. Since the show was killed off, its fans have continued to scrape and claw any way that they could in order to try and convince someone to bring the show back. At first these efforts seemed futile, but after another Fox show, Family Guy, proved that it can be done, these pleas have consistently grown stronger and stronger. Fans of Futurama were convincing enough to persuade the studio into giving the animated sci-fi series one more shot in the form of four straight-to-DVD movies. Bender’s Big Score, The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender’s Game, and Into the Wild Green Yonder eventually were born and released into the world; and to our pure elation, they did just well enough to force those Suits into a few meetings that lead to the decision to give the show one 26-episode season.
