There’s always a lot to feast your eyes upon at a geek and pop culture convention, especially the variety of creative and unique cosplay choices. But at ConnectiCon 2017, it was a Peter Capaldi/Twelfth Doctor Who lookalike and his son who stole the show.

When it comes to over-the-top cosplay creations, ConnectiCon does not disappoint. And while many cosplayers try to stay in character as much as possible throughout the long days, there are always moments when they need to take a breather and let loose, just like everybody else.

Connecticon — the small comic book convention based in Hartford, Connecticut — is undoubtedly the perfect venue for fans of all ages to peruse the convention’s floors, taking in all of its geek-culture offerings, while sporting their best cosplay duds.

Although quite small in comparison to the behemoth San Diego Comic-Con, which was held on the same weekend (July 9-12, 2015), ConnectiCon drew its largest crowd of the weekend for a question and answer panel with George Takei (Star Trek‘s Hikaru Sulu).

Entering the Main Events room of the Connecticut Convention Center while doing a double Vulcan Salute on Sunday, July 12th, Takei was received with a standing ovation from throngs of fans. He then smiled and said his classic phrase: “Ohhh my.”

ConnectiCon 2015 rang in its 13th year with an array of guests and creative cosplay choices. Some special guests included George Takei, the original Power Rangers, and Janet Varney.
