| Nat Wolff Joins Adam Wingard’s ‘Death Note’
The American film adaptation of the 13-volume manga series Death Note has found its lead. A new report says that Nat Wolff (Paper Towns, The Faults In Our Stars) will join the cast as a student to comes across a mystical book that gives him the ability to kill anyone in an instant once he writes the person’s name down in it. This leads to a cat-and-mouse chase when he catches the attention of a police officer. The film has been under development the past few years, going through a handful of directors before it landed in the hands of Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest). More on the story below.

| Zach Galifianakis To Play Joker In ‘LEGO Batman’
Warner Brothers has found their Joker for LEGO Batman, the upcoming animated spinoff of their 2015 hit The LEGO Movie. It’s being reported that Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) and The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis has been cast as the super villain. The character has previously been played by names like Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson in movies, and by Star Wars star Mark Hamill in numerous voice acting roles. Galifianakis joins a cast that already includes Will Arnett, once again playing the Batman role he played in The LEGO Movie, and Michael Cera, who was recently cast as the Boy Wonder, Robin.

| Robert Rodriguez To Direct ‘Jonny Quest’ At Warner Bros.
Jonny Quest is considered to be one of the most popular Hanna-Barbera cartoons. Since it was first launched back in 1965 two subsequent series, as well as a number of video games, have been launched. Now it’s time that the character gets its own feature film. In a new report, Robert Rodriguez has been named as the new director of the title film. | ‘The LEGO Movie’ Sequel To Be Directed By ‘Community’s Rob Schrab
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller won’t be returning to direct The LEGO Movie sequel, they will however be writing the film’s screenplay and producing alongside Dan Lin and Roy Lee. Chris McKay who was originally set to direct it, will be moving on to direct The LEGO Batman Spinoff, which will also be produced by Lord and Miller. | Cary Fukunaga To Shoot ‘It’ Next Summer; Stephen King Gives His Blessing
We’ve been hearing about a new adaptation of author Stephen King‘s horror meganovel It for a long time now, and it looks like the time for it to finally become a reality is fast approaching. A couple of years back we found out that Sin Nombre director Cary Fukunaga would be making a two-part adaptation of the book, something that became even more exciting when people got a better idea of what Fukunaga brings to the table after seeing his work directing all eight episodes of the first season of HBO’s True Detective. Producer Dan Lin spoke about It recently, saying that the current plan is to start officially prepping the first movie in March for a summer 2015 shoot. He also said that they even have the blessing of King himself, which should help fans of the book to feel better about the adaptation.
