| Will Smith Exits ‘Suicide Squad 2’ Due To Scheduling Conflicts
Sorry folks, it looks like you won’t be seeing Floyd Lawton take another contract in Suicide Squad 2. Will Smith, who introduced us to the cinematic version of the character, won’t be coming back. While the script was one of the weakest parts of the first film, Deadshot himself was one of the best parts of the film. Sure, we’ve seen some key actors stay and others leave before. But Smith is not leaving for the reasons that Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill (…maybe) exited. Scheduling conflicts contributed to this parting of ways. More on the report below.

| ‘Aquaman’ Spinoff To Take A Deep Dive Into The Trenches
A good DCEU film is hard to come by, especially when it is based on one of the cheesiest and easily mocked DC heroes. But James Wan was able to pull off the impossible with Aquaman. Not only is it a hit with critics and audiences, but it was more than enough of a box office success for it to spawn a developing spinoff. New reports confirm that an Aquaman spinoff titled The Trench is being developed based on the fanged amphibious creatures of the same name which pursued Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard) towards the deepest and darkest part of the ocean. More on this below.

| Kevin Smith Reveals Zack Snyder Had Plans For A ‘Justice League’ Trilogy
Zack Snyder‘s true vision for Justice League never came to fruition. Designed as a two-part film, Justice League would be the first time that DC heroes banded together to fight off cosmic threats. Unfortunately, lackluster films that came before it forced the two parts to become one part. Not only that, but Snyder left the project after principal photography, leaving Joss Whedon to take care of the post-production work. But with all of the last-minute reshoots and mustache gate, the film ended up being a major disappointment. Which is probably why many asked to see a Snyder cut well after it failed to meet expectations. But never let it be said that Snyder did not have a bold vision for the DCEU. In fact, what was rumored to be a two-part film in the very beginning was actually a trilogy. At least, according to Kevin Smith. More on this below.

| James Gunn In Talks To Direct ‘Suicide Squad 2’
After being fired as the director of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for highly controversial tweets that were made over a decade ago, James Gunn made a significant return to superhero movies by being hired by Warner Bros. to write the script for DC’s Suicide Squad 2 this past October. The script he was writing wouldn’t be considered a true sequel but rather a soft relaunch of the franchise, so the title has been changed to The Suicide Squad. Now, he’s making the move to direct the film as well. More on the report below.
