This season, Once Upon A Time went from Camelot to the Greek Underworld, from King Arthur to Hades with a bunch of Dark Ones thrown in. Half the characters were dead with unfinished business, and the show explored how darkness can overcome the best of heroes. The season was filled with the usual-yet-oh-so-successful formula of bad magic + bad deals + bad love… hmmm… these fairy tales don’t ever really have happy endings.

But that’s what makes it so entertaining, right? There are no limits – any realm, any time, any character, any story, any creature… can pop up to challenge our heroes.

Last week, we lost Robin Hood (Sean Maguire – nooo!!!!) and Hades (Greg Germann – meh), but Zelena and Regina (Rebecca Mader and Lana Parilla) were finally and completely united in sisterhood, and Hook and Emma (Colin O’Donoghue and Jennifer Morrison) were reunited in love.

Spoilers below.

Check Out These Early Images From ‘Dark Angel Saga’

Dark Angel SagaChapter one of the Dark Angel Saga begins in June in Uncanny X-Force 11!

X-Force is Wolverine’s elite hit squad of mutants now in chaos due to Warren Worthington giving in fully to the darkness and becoming the Arc Angel. In an attempt to find a cure the team finds themselves in the Age of Apocalypse! No cure for Worthington will be found before the X-Force does battle with the Amazing X-Men though.

All of this sounds pretty melodramatic huh? Everything old is new again in the Marvel U these days. Hopefully the story will be entertaining enough to make it worth it. Rick Remender will be writing with art by Mark Brooks and Dean White. Check out these early images and if you’re so inclined grab Uncanny X-Force 11 on June 6, 2011.

Marvel Comics: The Heroic Age: The Avengers, Issue #1The Heroic Age: The Avengers #1
Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
Penciler: John Romita Jr
Inker: Klaus Janson
Colorist: Dean White
Letterer: Cory Petit
Price: $3.99
Marvel Comics
Release date: May 19. 2010

After the last few years worth of Avengers stories where they are constantly on the run or fighting a lot of street level villains, Avengers #1 gets us back to the old school, “Let’s take on a classic threat” story. The action gets moving quickly, and I’m glad to see that writer Brian Michael Bendis wastes no time setting up the team and getting straight into the story.

Kang has come back with a line straight out of Back to The Future. It’s your kids, mighty Avengers, you have to come to the future to stop your kids! It seems this issue is adapting the story from the Next Avengers animated movie from a few years ago. They have certainly taken the character designs for the kids from that movie and used them in this issue. It’s an odd choice for me, and I don’t know if seeing the movie will spoil the last page of this issue (I’ve never seen the Next Avengers movie), but this is the kind of story I think I would like to see out of an Avengers book.
