Air Date: Sunday, May 15th, 2016, 8:00pm This season, Once Upon A Time went from Camelot to the Greek Underworld, from King Arthur to Hades with a bunch of Dark Ones thrown in. Half the characters were dead with unfinished business, and the show explored how darkness can overcome the best of heroes. The season was filled with the usual-yet-oh-so-successful formula of bad magic + bad deals + bad love… hmmm… these fairy tales don’t ever really have happy endings. But that’s what makes it so entertaining, right? There are no limits – any realm, any time, any character, any story, any creature… can pop up to challenge our heroes. Last week, we lost Robin Hood (Sean Maguire – nooo!!!!) and Hades (Greg Germann – meh), but Zelena and Regina (Rebecca Mader and Lana Parilla) were finally and completely united in sisterhood, and Hook and Emma (Colin O’Donoghue and Jennifer Morrison) were reunited in love. Spoilers below.

Air Date: Sunday, April 24th, 2015, 8:00pm Last week on Once Upon A Time, Dorothy was saved from Zelena’s (Rebecca Mader) sleeping curse with true love’s kiss from Ruby (Meghan Ory), and it was beautiful. I was really proud of the show from not shying away from a possible controversial storyline, where traditional fairy tales do not normally tread. The romantic tension between the two were apparent, as was their obvious struggle with their feelings. We saw Zelena really start to change by giving up the ruby slippers to Regina (Lana Parilla), and agreeing to help Belle (Emilie de Ravin). The help was the sleeping curse. Spoilers below.

Air Date: Sunday, November 15th, 2015, 8:00pm Last week on Once Upon A Time, we meet the original Dark One, Nimue, true love of Merlin (Elliot Knight). Unfortunately, he created that monster. Having drunk from the Holy Grail, he was infused with power and immortality. He and Nimue fell in love, and he wanted to give it all up for her. She was having none of that, wanting the power to avenge her village. In the end, in present-day Storybrooke, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is successful at repairing Excalibur. Zelena (Rebecca Mader) pretends to help, but then joins Arthur’s (Liam Garrigan) crazy team. She is able to make the other half of Excalibur a sword that can command Merlin. Uh-oh. Spoilers below.

Air Date: Sunday, October 18th, 2015, 8:00pm Last week on Once Upon A Time, we learned via flashback Lancelot (he’s alive! Sinqua Walls) that Arthur (Liam Garrigan) may not be what he seems. Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) will probably have to try to break up the budding bromance between David (Josh Dallas) and Arthur. The suspicions are confirmed twofold to the viewers, when we see Arthur holding the Crimson Crown, a magical object that could allow them to speak to tree-trapped Merlin. But David almost drowned via ghostly knights, and Arthur saved him. I really don’t want David’s heart to be broken. In present-day Storybrooke, Arthur makes his squire commit suicide for his mysterious evil cause. Meanwhile, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) tries to snuggle up to Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), who is not having it. But really needs a blank slate to pull Excaliber from the stone. Voila! Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle)! Some spoilers below.
