The Finest Edge of Twilight
Book 1: Dungeons & Dragons
Hardcover | Kindle Edition | Audiobook
By R. A. Salvatore
Publisher: Random House Worlds
Release Date: October 7, 2025 Well met, fellow readers! I am so happy to be able to talk to you about this wonderous new book from R. A. Salvatore entitled The Finest Edge of Twilight. I am a lifelong fan of the Companions of the Hall, having borne witness to their struggles and adventures for decades, starting with The Crystal Shard and progressing forward with each new release. There have been times, however, when life has played cruel tricks on me and I have not been as vigilant with consuming the newest releases in a timely fashion. So when I was offered the chance to read this early, I knew I was missing a few choice novels in the Salvatore collection. My fears were for naught, luckily, as this book needs little in the way of history since it begins a brand new chapter with a mostly new protagonist. Read on to find out more!

Dungeons & Dragons: Worlds & Realms: Adventures from Greyhawk to Faerûn and Beyond
Hardcover | Kindle
By Adam Lee
Publisher: Ten Speed Press
Release Date: October 29, 2024 Good day, friends. I want to preface this review with the knowledge that I spent multiple hours writing what should have been my longest review ever, only to inadvertently lose the entire thing in the saving process. I will freely admit my editor warned me to write outside of the primary posting software, a warning that I nonetheless ignored and for which I thereby paid the highest price. So, I will do my best to replicate the review, though I admit the passion I had for this particular assignment has waned. Not because of the book itself. Dungeons & Dragons: Worlds & Realms: Adventures from Greyhawk to Faerûn and Beyond is a spectacular tome of information that dragged me kicking and screaming down memory lane. So, with that said, let me begin yet again.

Boundless
Generations: Book II, A Drizzt Novel
Hardcover | Kindle | Audiobook
By R.A. Salvatore
Publisher: HarperVoyager
Release Date: September 10, 2019 I opened the box carefully, reverently even. The last thing I wanted to do was damage the contents and though chances were slight, I closely monitored how deep the incision was, insuring that nothing inside would be harmed in any way. First one flap, then another, continuing on until all four were flipped out so as to facilitate the removal of the treasure within. A bit of packing paper and bubble wrap is all that separated me from the coveted prize inside its current containment. Lifting the multiple items from their home, I slowly removed one after another from the stack, setting them down carefully on the table beside me. After taking out four of them, I spotted it. It was next to last in the bundle, just waiting for me to take it up lovingly. I touched the cover, maybe to remind myself that this was no dream but in fact the time had come for it to be part of my life, to be a part of the world. Six books arrived that day from my editors, but only one was Boundless by R.A. Salvatore. And regardless of how my day was going, it had been redeemed, for Drizzt had come home again.

I love graphic novels. Don’t get me wrong, I was brought up on monthly comics. It’s just that as I’ve gotten older I have a deeper appreciation for contained stories. Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter Tales: The Legend Of Drizzt is a prime example. Having missed the first issue, I was originally a wee bit behind. Thanks to this wonderful book, that is no longer the case! Written by R.A. Salvatore and son Geno Salvatore, this story takes place during the Neverwinter Saga of books. But the tale itself is all inclusive and doesn’t tie directly in with those novels, so you can enjoy one without having read the other. The really interesting thing about this particular one is that it centers around a lesser-known character from the books, Thibbledorf Pwent. As leader of the Gutbuster Brigade of Battleragers, Pwent was always at the forefront of any battle, charging ahead with no regard to his own mortality. This time around, though, things are quite different. No spoilers from me, but everyone thought he had died defending his king. Lost for so long, Pwent’s plight is a dark and lonely one that is fully explained here.
