Marvel Releases Two Deleted Scenes From ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Review

Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release their smash superhero sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier on multiple home viewing formats early next month. As a preview of what fans and potential buyers can expect from the extras that will be included, the studios have released two deleted scenes from the film.

You can check them out here below.

The scenes are brief and their deletion from the final cut is understandable, but they do offer some fine additional moments with some of the film’s supporting cast and a small bit of action. Between the dual critical and commercial success of this and Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel has had one hell of a year.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes to Blu-ray, DVD, and Blu-ray 3D combo pack on September 9, 2014. Right now Amazon is only offering the film for sale on Digital HD for those who pre-order (the other formats are not up for pre-order yet).

Todd and The Book Of Pure EvilTodd & The Book Of Pure Evil
The Complete Second Season
DVD | Instant Video
Directed by James Genn, James Dunnison
Starring Alex House, Maggie Castle, Bill Turnbull
Entertainment One
Release Date: June 25, 2013

Life is tough when you’re a teenager; each day you experience the pains of slowly maturing into adulthood, the stomach-churning terror of high school, and the heart-rending promises of that sweet first love that blows up in your face. For Todd Smith (Alex House), a student at Crowley High and the titular reluctant hero of the Canadian comedy-horror series Todd & the Book of Pure Evil, those are the parts of his teen years he will one day look back on with fondness.

The parts he won’t are what has made this unusual series a minor cult sensation in North America and abroad. At the start of the first season Todd encountered the cursed Book of Pure Evil and tried using it to become a better guitar player and win the heart of his unrequited love Jenny Kolinsky (Maggie Castle). The plan backfired horribly and set the gawky and insecure young metalhead on the path to becoming the Pure Evil One, a dark destiny he tries desperately to avoid as he and his friends Curtis Weaver (Bill Turnbull) and Hannah B. Williams (Melanie Leishman) along with Jenny and occasionally wise and laconic school janitor Jimmy (Jason Mewes) wage weekly battles against the forces of darkness unleashed by the Book and the poor souls who dare attempt to use it to further their own ends. Without getting behind on their homework Todd and the gang encounter zombies, otherworldly monsters, and many other indescribable threats that stand between them and keeping the world safe from evil and making it to graduation in one piece.

The Wild HuntThe Wild Hunt
DVD
Directed by Alexandre Franchi
Starring Ricky Mabe, Kaniehtiio Horn, Mark Antony Krupa
MPI Home Video
Release Date: June 7, 2011

Erik (Ricky Mabe) lives in Quebec and doesn’t have much else going for him other than taking care of his ill father Magnus (Martin Stone) and spending time with his girlfriend Lyn (Tiio Horn). Unfortunately Lyn has decided that she wants more out of life and decides to leave Erik for the spiritual and physical freedom of a live-action medieval role playing village in the countryside where she’ll serve as the feminine arm candy of Murtagh (Trevor Hayes), whose role in the village is that of the shaman and leader of a tribe of rampaging maraduders. Erik seems content to let Lyn go for all time at first but soon finds himself traveling to the village to win back the heart of his lady love. But in order to walk among the other LARPers, Erik will have to reluctantly become one of them. He also encounters Bjorn (Mark Antony Krupa, who also co-wrote), his estranged brother who left Erik with the sole responsibility of caring for their father while he embraced his role of a lusty Viking warrior with a bottomless thirst for the thrill of battle.

Erik gets into the spirit of the village enough that he is able to infiltrate Murtagh’s camp and take Lyn back, but when she refuses to return with the shaman for the purposes of the forthcoming “Big Battle” in which every member of the village will play a part Murtagh gets incensed and creates tension among the ranks of the royalty, warriors, and serfs alike. From there it can only get worse, because Murtagh and his followers are about to kickstart “the Wild Hunt,” an orgy of senseless violence and rampant pillaging, only this hunt, inflamed by Murtagh’s jealousy and petty tyranny, is going down for real.

Crawl

When it comes to making lurid, heart-pounding thrillers that pull absolutely no punches, there are few that can contend with the Australians and come out mostly unscathed and without twenty beers in their system. Anyone who has seen Patrick, Road Games, and Wolf Creek and loved them would probably agree.

Produced in collaboration with the Collective and the horror website BloodyDisgusting.com, Crawl is the latest suspense thriller to emerge from Down Under and cut a swath of terror through the film festival circuit. The movie is set to debut on DVD next month and a trailer for the film has been released.

You can check out the trailer as well as the DVD cover art below.
