Fans of the Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy game franchises have been waiting years and years and years to hear it, and E3 2013 is bringing with it those magical words they’ve been seeking: Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV are on the way.

A new Kingdom Hearts game has been a long time coming, and with the original getting an HD makeover it’s the perfect time for a new installment in the series. Final Fantasy XV is a bit of a different story; it’s a game that’s actually been in development for many years now (first announced at E3 ’06) under the name Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but Square Enix has now decided to instead make it into FF XV instead.

The question coming into E3 2013 was who would win between the two gaming giants, Microsoft’s Xbox One or Sony’s PlayStation 4.

Instead of trying to fix some of the issues with the Xbox One that had fans enraged, Microsoft stuck to their guns and focused on the games…as was promised. But with Microsoft going early this morning and Sony just wrapping up, the latter took the opportunity to drop bombs, delivering one of the most epic final 10-15 minutes in E3 history that easily gave Sony the E3 2013 KO. It’s been a while since someone has put Microsoft on their back, and it just happened.

Game fans rejoiced (and some wept) when it was revealed that Dark Souls II, a sequel to one of the hardest games ever made (click here for a NSFW but hilarious example) in Dark Souls, was on the way. Those feelings only escalated when we saw our first gameplay footage, which confirmed that this too would be an infuriatingly difficult game to take on.

Now comes a new trailer out of E3 2013 for the game, which is brief but still shows us some new footage. You can check out the new Dark Souls II trailer below now!

CD Projekt RED was on hand at E3 2013 to show off the first gameplay trailer for their highly anticipated next installment in the Witcher franchise, titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The game will be for next generation consoles, and has fans rightfully excited because the game’s map is said to be 30 times larger than The Witcher 2‘s map, and also bigger than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim‘s.

Another Xbox One exclusive shown off at E3 was of course the next game in the Halo franchise.

The game isn’t specifically identified as Halo 5, interestingly enough, but it’s assumed to be the next entry in the new Reclaimer trilogy from 343 Industries that began with Halo 4.
