| ‘Twilight’ Gives Boost To ‘Wuthering Heights’ |
 |
Eclipse, the third book in author Stephenie Meyer‘s wildly popular vampire series Twilight, has unexpectedly given a major boost to the classic novel Wuthering Heights.
The Telegraph reports that fans of the Twilight books are running out to get Wuthering Heights thanks to the reveal that the 1847 Emily Brontë novel is a favorite of Bella’s, the main character in the Twilight series. To get in on all the new readership from the Twilight fanbase, HarperTeen Publishers are re-releasing Wuthering Heights on October 6 with a new Twilight-inspired cover, which will include a new stamp that reads “Bella and Edward’s Favorite Book.” A similar cover revision was already done earlier this year for the UK version of the book. In Eclipse, Bella references the Brontë novel several times, comparing her relationship with her vampire love Edward to that of Heathcliff and Catherine from Wuthering Heights, quoting the part of the classic novel where Catherine talks about Heathcliff: “If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger.”

| Bryce Dallas Howard Joins ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Bryce Dallas Howard is set to replace Rachelle Lefevre in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight franchise.
Access Hollywood is reporting that Lefevre, who played Victoria in the first Twilight film, would not be resuming her role in Eclipse because of scheduling conflicts. It was reported earlier this month that Lefevre was joining Minnie Driver in the cast of Barney’s Vision, which begins filming the same day as Eclipse. Howard, who’s known for her roles in Spider-Man 3 and most recently in Terminator Salvation, will take over as the evil vampire out for revenge over the death of her lover. “Rachelle brought “˜Victoria’ to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character,” said Erik Feig of Summit Entertainment in a statement to Access Hollywood.

| Robert Pattison Confirms Fourth ‘Twilight’ Movie ‘Breaking Dawn’ |
 |

The steps are simple: obtain the rights to an ultra-popular book series; make a movie based on the book series; laugh as hordes of teenagers spend hundreds of millions of dollars seeing your movie; and of course, plan for lots more movies. Cake. While in France at the Cannes Film Festival, Twilight star Robert Pattison confirmed that he is indeed signed on to star in a fourth movie in the series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Currently, Pattison is filming the final few days on New Moon — the second film in the franchise — before taking some time off and working on other projects before returning to his Twilight world to begin filming the third film, Eclipse, in the fall. Naturally, going by the aforementioned steps, this shouldn’t be making any jaws drop. Even if the world of Twilight never reaches its Harry Potter aspirations, they’re already popular enough to make a movie based on any and every book that exists, AND any that have yet to be written. Breaking Dawn is the fourth and final book in the series, but I fully expect more to be on their way.

| David Slade Hired To Direct ‘Twilight’ Threequel ‘Eclipse’ |
 |

President of Production for Summit Entertainment, Erik Feig has officially announced that director David Slade will take over the helm for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse — the third movie in the series, which is set for a June 30, 2010 release date. This sets the director’s chair up for the trilogy with The Golden Compass director Chris Weitz currently handling the sequel, New Moon. Though the first movie did really well, the way it was handled by then director Catherine Hardwicke was not exactly the way that the studio wanted it, so they began their search for new blood. And as you can tell, they’ve gotten their hands on some decent talent. David Slade first jumped on the scene with Hard Candy — his acclaimed, yet dark and sometimes hard-to-watch movie about a pedophile and the young girl trying to shine a light on his despicable ways. The movie starred Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page. He’s probably more known for his second film, though, which was 30 Days of Night. No word on if the vampire experience landed him this gig, but I’m sure it helped!
