The series utilizes elements of both epic fantasy and dark fantasy, following a mercenary group called Black Company, which takes care of the things the highest bidders pay them to take care of. NYCC 2015 Banshee panel

Grantland‘s Andy Greenwald hosted the New York Comic-Con panel on Thursday for Cinemax’s hit crime/action/drama Banshee, which enters its fourth and final season this Winter. The show focuses on Lucas Hood (Antony Starr), an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of a murdered sheriff. He continues his exploits, all the while pursuing his own unique brand of violent justice in Banshee, a small Amish town in Pennsylvania. Cinemax returns the show for its last episodes in January of 2016. Joining the show this season is TV veteran, the beautiful Eliza Dushku, who knows about violent TV from her experience in Buffy, Tru Calling, and Dollhouse.

Banshee creator, writer, and executive producer Jonathan Tropper, made an appearance at the panel, along with stars Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Matt Servitto, Frankie Faison, and Eliza Dushku.

Kevin Tancharoen's The Gable 5

Kevin Tancharoen‘s live-action web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy was incredibly popular with fans of the Mortal Kombat video games who maybe weren’t so fond of feature movies that have been made in the past. Be sure to check out the pitch trailer and season one and season two of that if you haven’t already.

Tancharoen made Mortal Kombat: Legacy with Machinima, so it’s natural that the two are teaming up once again for his next project, a short film titled The Gable 5. The short stars Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse actress Eliza Dushku.

You can read a synopsis and watch the short below now.

Eliza Dushku Plays She-Hulk in Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.

Eliza Dushku has the reputation for taking on characters that don’t let much get in their way. From playing Faith on Buffy The Vampire Slayer to being the voice of Catwoman in Batman: Year One, she seems to enjoy characters who are far from timid. She is continuing in that vein by giving a voice to She-Hulk in the new animated series Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. shown on Disney XD in the United States and premiering this week on the Canadian network Teletoon.

Speaking nostalgically, the Batman Year One comic series by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli instigates many happy memories for me. I, along with many other geeks, hold the earlier Miller Batman work in high esteem, and the Year One arc released back in 1987 is often regarded with much reverence. It, accompanied by titles like The Killing Joke and others, is often pointed to as being must-read material for new Batman readers.

Thus, when it was announced that Warner Brothers Animation and DC were going forward with an animated adaptation of the classic and timeless Batman Year One, it was a bittersweet moment. Would they stand true to the original material? Or make sweeping adaptations for the release?
