Yondu and Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Screenwriter: James Gunn

Rated PG-13 | 136 Minutes
Release Date: May 5, 2017

James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy was once considered one of the riskiest films that Marvel Studios could ever release. It was an unknown property which cast three relative unknowns and gave two A-listers voice roles. However, the film’s surprising success proved that a quirky, hilarious, musically-charged space opera could work as a superhero property. Who would have thought a roguish space outlaw, an alien assassin, an alien manic, a gun-toting raccoon, and a talking tree would be our favorite a-holes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Now they are back for round two in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. As with all sequels to a universally loved film, expectations run unbelievably high. Fortunately, Gunn never misses a beat. It’s absolutely terrific and just as fun, if not more fun, than the first. But it’s also one of the few Marvel films that’s emotionally driven. Check out my full review below.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Soundtrack List

It really wouldn’t be much of a Guardians of the Galaxy movie without an Awesome Mix soundtrack. We’ve heard little teases of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack from trailers and various TV spots, but James Gunn has said that some of those songs won’t appear on the final soundtrack cut. Having seen the film yesterday, there is some truth to that. But there are also some very welcomed additions.

Now the full soundtrack list for the movie has been revealed, and like any Awesome Mix soundtrack, there is an eclectic mix of ’70s and ’80s tunes that sure to get you singing along. Check out the full list plus some quotes from Gunn as to why he picked some of them.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 header image

It’s customary for true Marvel fans to stay throughout the entire credits of any Marvel Studios film. Whatever scene appears during said credits will either be a nice segue into the next chapter of the MCU or a teaser.

There is no standard number when it comes to how many end-credits scenes a film should have. But we now know Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will have five of them. More on the story below.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Team

Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for this summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The trailer was shown during tonight’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, and it is just as funny and exciting as you would expect (maybe more). You can check it out here below.

In previous trailers director James Gunn has purposely held back revealing too much of the film’s story, instead focusing on our heroes’ bickering in the heat of battle. There were weird space beasts, dazzling battles, and Rocket Raccoon trying to keep Baby Groot from activating an atomic bomb. Priceless stuff, but fans have long clamored for more Guardians goodness. Tonight we got it, and then some.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Though they may be the biggest idiots in the galaxy, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (the voice of Bradley Cooper), and Groot (the voice of Vin Diesel) managed to save it from annihilation in the first Guardians of the Galaxy. But their team chemistry could use a little work. It’s their dysfunctional family dynamic that is fun to watch. But if there is one person that is a scene stealer it has to be Drax. Though he may have a tragic backstory, the lovable muscular oaf is not one to let a metaphor or two fly over his head. I imagine that won’t change now that he has found a new family. In fact, we may find out some new things that irritating things about him that we could laugh at.

Check out what it is below in this new preview for the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
