| New International Trailer For Simon Pegg & Nick Frost Alien Adventure ‘Paul’
Another trailer has been released for the upcoming Greg Mottola comedy, Paul, and this one is of the international variety. The movie rejoins Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz duo Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as a pair of fanboys on their way to Comic-Con who discover an alien named Paul. Unlike most aliens we’ve come to know, Paul (Seth Rogen) is a foul-mouthed little fella who doesn’t quite fit the mold. Paul will be released on March 18, 2011, and you can read a full synopsis and check out the international trailer for yourself by clicking on over to the other side now!

| Geek Peek: First Glimpse At Nick Frost & Simon Pegg’s Alien Friend ‘Paul’ |
 |

There’s been a heavy dose of excitement behind Greg Mottola‘s geek-friendly road trip comedy Paul for a long while. The movie re-pairs one of the best acting teams in movies today, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, as a couple of quintessential fanboys named Clive and Graeme who meet an incredible acquaintance after attending the yearly San Diego Comic Con gathering (which just recently ended last weekend; read all of our coverage here!). After their visit to Comic Con, the British duo also decide to see some other sights while in the area. One of their stops includes the mysterious Area 51, where they happen to bump into an extraterrestrial named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen). The thing with Paul is that he isn’t like most aliens we’ve seen in movies and TV shows over the years, and actually has quite the vulgar tongue (or whatever anatomy aliens possess). One thing those who have been so excited for was what Paul the alien would actually look like, and Bleeding Cool has your first glimpse. Click on over to the other side to check him out for yourself!

| SDCC 2010: ‘Paul’ Panel With Simon Pegg, Nick Frost & Seth Rogen (With Video) |
 |
The cast of Paul, the upcoming sci-fi comedy by Superbad director Greg Mottola and written by the film’s stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, took to the stage at 2010 San Diego Comic-Con to debut a special clip reel made specifically for the fans in attendance. This can be somewhat verified by the fact that it wasn’t censored for the general viewing audience due to the few instances of well-timed cursing.
The video opened with a loud pop from the crowd as they showed fanboys Clive Gollings (Frost) and Graeme Willy (Pegg) in the San Diego Convention Center for Comic-Con. The two are on a journey to Roswell, New Mexico, where they encounter a classic-style gray alien named Paul, voiced by Seth Rogen. The trio are being chased by Special Agent Lorenzo Zoil (Jason Bateman) and Agent Haggard (Bill Hader) and accidentally kidnap Ruth Buggs, played by Kristen Wiig. With the exception of Wiig, the aforementioned actors sat on the panel along with Sigourney Weaver, Jeffrey Tambor, and Joe Lo Truglio — who actually stood in during the portions of the film that contained the CGI Paul.

| Geek Peek: First Image Of Simon Pegg & Nick Frost In ‘Paul’ |
 |

The first official image from the new Simon Pegg and Nick Frost movie Paul has been spotted at Universal Studios, snapped, and sent to Collider. Some images from the set had been seen, but nothing from the actual movie, so for someone visiting Universal to see this giant image hanging outside is a tad odd, but still good for all of us! Click the image at right to see it in full. Paul is purely a fanboy movie with Pegg and Frost starring as loyal geeks on a road trip to Comic Con who encounter an alien while near Area 51. The movie is directed by Greg Mottola, who is known for his instant comedy classic Superbad, as well as the recent Adventureland. The movie also stars Seth Rogen as the alien they meet, which will be created using motion capture. It’s also said that the alien will spit a lot of foul language in true Rogen form and that the movie will likely be R-rated. Rounding it all out will be Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, Dave Koechner, Sigourney Weaver, Blythe Danner, and Kristen Wiig. Adventureland
Directed by Greg Mottola
Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Martin Starr, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader
Rated R
Release date: April 3, 2009
We’ve always been told not to judge a book by its cover. That practice is a lot easier in theory than in execution, especially with movies. Before its release, the level of expectation of a movie lives and dies by its trailers and advertising. But all the hype in the world doesn’t replace actually sitting through the movie and forming your own conclusion. Set in a summer in the late 1980s, Adventureland is the story of James Brennen (Jesse Eisenberg), a recent college graduate who, in lieu of his family’s financial difficulties, is forced to forgo his planned summer in Europe to move home and get a job to pay for college. After being turned down for everything else he reluctantly takes a job at a local amusement park where he begins an awkward relationship of sorts with one of his co-workers, Emily (Kristen Stewart). There is enough material in that description for some really good comedy; the kind of comedy you would expect from writer/director Greg Mottola given that his name and resume is plastered across every advertisement, trailer, and sandwich board trying to sell you this movie. After the success Superbad, which he also directed, it would seem that making another comedy would be the perfect way to respond. Apparently being easier in theory than execution applies to everyone. To make matters worse, he has no one to blame but himself.
