| Blake Northcott’s 3 Hottest #NCBD Picks For June 25, 2014
It’s been a rough week for fangirls and guys around the world: Han Solo broke his leg, possibly delaying the new Star Wars film. It is now a whopping 279 days until the next new episode of Game of Thrones (not that I’m counting). And to rub salt in our collective wounds, a new trailer for Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is circulating, which replaces our childhood icons with duck-lipped, CGI creations that look nothing like they did in their previous movies. And that’s just Megan Fox – the Turtles look even weirder. But fear not, gentle reader – I come bearing glad tidings. This #NCBD is a veritable cornucopia of comic book riches, just waiting to be consumed by your eager eyeballs. So dig into my top 3 picks of the week below, and then check out my new “rewind” section, where I tell you about a couple books you might’ve missed from last week.

| Preview Issue #1 Of ‘Harley Quinn’ From Amanda Conner & Jimmy Palmiotti
This week marks the release of Harley Quinn #1, an ongoing series featuring the titular star from DC Comics as part of The New 52. While Harley is currently part of two team books already – Suicide Squad and Injustice: Gods Among Us – her solo book will focus on her new life as a resident of New York City and the day-to-day escapades she finds herself in. The series is being written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner (Conner will also provide the cover art) and features art by newcomer Chad Hardin. In an interview with USA Today, Conner noted that “even though it’s still fairly early, it is beginning to look like Looney Tunes meets a Quentin Tarantino movie” which sounds quite promising for those who are a fan of Ms. Quinzel. Check out a preview here below of Harley Quinn #1.
