| 103: The Stray – Violent Delights: A Westworld Podcast
Violent Delights is a weekly podcast where hosts Andrew Sorcini, Dwayne DeFreitas, and Tosin Onafowokan discuss HBO’s Westworld, and the larger questions this ambitious show hopes to tackle. | Seandps’s Top 10 Movies Of 2013 |

| January 29th, 2014 at 10:00 pm |
Well it has once again come to that time of year when all of us movie geeks go over our list of movies we have seen over the past year and try to make our top ten lists. As I look over my list of movies that I saw in 2013, there have been some good ones (more on that later), along with some I wish I could get my time back (Amour, How I Live Now, and The Great Gatsby just to name a few). According to my list, I have seen 92 new movies in 2013, and by new, I mean anything I have not seen before, for example, I finally got North by Northwest off my list of shame. Continue reading to see my list.

| Famous Monster’s 25 Best Films Of 20132013. 365 days. 163 films. 326 hours. That’s 13.58 days I’ve dedicated this year to watching new releases. 2013 was a great year for film – and I’m pretty comfortable with this list I’ve put together, even if I have missed a few releases here and there. The art of list-making is fluid – you can never cover as much ground as you would like, and it’s possible I’ll continue discovering this year’s great films well into 2014. The annual ritual of narrowing down hundreds of titles to just 25 is a cruel but necessary discipline as a film critic. There are a lot of movies I wanted to include here, but couldn’t find room for – films like Prisoners, Maniac, Spring Breakers, The Bling Ring, About Time, and Before Midnight all appeared on this list at one point or another. Anyway, let’s get down to the business of celebrating the cinema of 2013. Here are 25 moving pictures that moved me this year.

| ‘Her’ Trailer: Joaquin Phoenix Falls In Love With The Voice Of Scarlett Johansson |
People who use an iPhone have become accustomed to hearing the voice of Siri whenever they need help or have a good joke. Spike Jonze‘s Her centers on a man (Joaquin Phoenix) who falls in love with a Siri-like AI. Of course when that AI is voiced by Scarlett Johansson, it’s not too hard to fall madly in love with a piece of software. The trailer feels very simple telling the story of the main character, who has anti-social issues after going through a huge break up. After purchasing a new computer and answering a few personality questions, he “meets” Samantha. This isn’t the kind of relationship we would normally see between a human and a computer. There is a real sense of pain these characters go through as they develop a close and tender relationship but suffer because they are unable to have any sort of physical contact with each other. The first trailer for Her has been released, and you can watch it below.
