| Christopher Nolan To Godfather ‘Superman’ Movie; ‘Dark Knight’ Sequel Being Written
Some major reports are coming straight out of Deadline Hollywood this week, and while confirmation of Tom Cruise’s involvement in Mission: Impossible IV may be huge, this particular story may just top it. A source close to or within Warner Brothers has revealed that the studio has reached out to Christopher Nolan, the director of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, to act as a sort of mentor or “Godfather” on the eventual second attempt to modernize Superman. A few years back, X-Men and X2 director Bryan Singer brought us Superman Returns with Brandon Routh as the iconic hero, but the movie never quite lived up to the hype…both financially and critically. When Nolan took over the Batman franchise for a major reboot (back when studios waited a couple decades first), he brought the characters out of their comic book existence and placed them in our own dark and gritty world.

| The Strange Gets Stranger: ‘Inception’ Teaser Trailer #2 |
 |

When we all saw the first teaser trailer (Read: Must Watch: First Teaser Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s “˜Inception’) for Christopher Nolan‘s follow-up to The Dark Knight, it intrigued us and immediately captured our attention, while at the same time leaving us absolutely oblivious to what exactly we were watching. Now comes the release of the second teaser trailer for Inception, and once again, you will see some pretty incredible and mind-bending images that still leave us wondering what in the Sam Hill (yes I went there; old school!) is going on. Hopefully by the time that the movie is released in the Summer of 2010, we’ll have some semblance of an idea of what’s going on. The one and only synopsis for the movie has always simply been “A contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind,” which is clearly even more cryptic than when we had nothing to go on but visuals. If you go with the obvious assumption that all of these wacky things that we’re seeing are taking place within someone’s mind, you could very well be correct. Personally, my money is on it being John Malkovich’s head. Click on over to the other side to check out the trailer or head to Apple for the HD quality version.

| ‘Mad Max 4’ Grabs Charlize Theron & Tom Hardy For Leads |
 |

Just this week, we were treated to a brief glimpse of some of the vehicles that series writer and director George Miller was having constructed for his long-awaited fourth chapter in the Mad Max franchise, which is being called Fury Road. During that interview, Miller stated that they were in the process of casting but had no idea who would be chosen yet. Whether that was the truth or not is unknown, but it did not take long to find out that two actors have indeed been chosen. It’s being reported that Academy Award winner Charlize Theron and up-and-comer Tom Hardy have been cast in the lead roles. Hardy will be filling the large shoes once occupied by Mel Gibson as the vengeful post-apocalyptic hero, Max. Theron will be taking the female lead in which details are not yet known. The movie is said to be a sequel, taking place a short time after the events of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. This means that the hopes for a Gibson cameo as the original Max is unlikely, but a cameo as someone else could still be put together for amusement purposes.

| Must Watch: First Teaser Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s ‘Inception’ |
 |

Yahoo! Movies has the first official teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s new movie, Inception. No one really knows exactly what the movie is about except that it deals with a CEO (Leonardo DiCaprio) being blackmailed, and, as you will see, that it’s a type of science fiction movie that deals mainly (and possibly inside) the human mind. It has a huge supporting cast, including Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Wantabe, and Tom Berenger. It has become something of a tradition for Nolan to do a smaller movie in between the juggernaut that is the current Batman franchise. After Batman Begins, he did The Prestige; after The Dark Knight, he’s doing Inception. It’s still unclear what the future holds for a Batman 3, and if Nolan will even be involved, but it is expected after the dust settles from this project. The director first made a name for himself with the 2000 film Memento, and followed that up with 2002’s Insomnia. Click on over to the other side to check out the trippy teaser trailer for the movie.

| Cast Round-Up: Christopher Nolan’s ‘Inception’ |
 |

We haven’t much covered Christopher Nolan‘s new movie, Inception, since it was first announced (Read: Christopher Nolan To Follow-Up “˜The Dark Knight’ With “˜Inception’). The now-traditional smaller movie that the director likes to do in between his massive Batman film workings is intriguingly described as “…a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind,” and has collected quite the impressive cast thus far! Casting up to this point has included the likes of: Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed, Blood Diamond); Ellen Page (Juno, X2); Cillian Murphy (Red Eye, Sunshine); Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose, Public Enemies); and the newest two additions — Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Brick, The Lookout) and Michael Caine (The Dark Knight, Jaws: The Revenge). Word is, DiCaprio will be playing a big-time CEO. Page will be playing a student and his assistant with Gordon-Levitt’s character also working for him. Cotillard will be playing DiCaprio’s wife in the movie, and Murphy’s role is not yet known.
