| Official Trailer For New ‘Insidious’ Movie ‘The Last Key’ Released
Universal Pictures has released an official trailer for the latest entry in the Insidious franchise, titled Insidious: The Last Key. The movie is the fourth in the series and another prequel, with Lin Shaye returning once again to star. This time around Shaye’s character, Dr. Elise Rainier, finds herself dealing with a haunting inside her family’s old home. | WonderCon 2015: Leigh Whannell and Lin Shaye Talk ‘Insidious: Chapter 3’
Focus Features and Blumhouse Productions’ Insidious: Chapter 3 takes a trip back in time before the events of the demons that haunted the Lambert family. Leigh Whannell makes his directorial debut replacing James Wan, who left to direct Furious 7. Having already written and starred in the first two chapters, Whannell seemed like a natural fit to direct the third. However, in our roundtable interview the director revealed that there were some fears about coming on to a sequel that already has a deep mythology and a fanbase. He also talks about some of the difficulties of writing, directing, and acting simultaneously, the use of practical effects over CG, and meeting expectations. Hit the jump for the interview.

| ‘Insidious: Chapter 3’ Teaser Trailer Released
The first teaser trailer for Insidious: Chapter 3 has been released online by Focus Features. The sequel is directed by Leigh Whannell, who makes his directorial debut. Whannell is the creator of the Saw franchise, writing the short that started it all plus Saw 1-3. He also wrote and starred in both previous Insidious movies. Insidious 3 stars Dermot Mulroney, Stefanie Scott, Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, and Whannell, and will be released on May 29, 2015. You can read a synopsis and check out the first trailer below.

| FilmDistrict Planning ‘Insidious: Chapter 3’; Director James Wan Retiring From HorrorJames Wan can do no wrong with a limited budget, and with Insidious: Chapter 2 winning the box office this weekend with $40.1 million – on a $5 million budget – FilmDistrict announcing that it has plans to develop Insidious: Chapter 3 doesn’t come as a complete surprise. Deadline reports that film star and screenplay writer for both Insidious films Leigh Whannell has been brought back to write the third installment of the highly successful franchise.
