| WonderCon 2017: ‘Wonder Woman’ Panel
Normally, major studios reserve some of their exclusive first look footage reveals for a bigger fan convention venue like the San Diego Comic-Con. But there are a few who do make it out to the Anaheim, CA area for WonderCon. This year is no different with Warner Bros giving fans a sneak peek at their upcoming slate of DCEU films. The only difference is that I don’t have to wait hours on end to for a wristband or sleeping on concrete to get inside an arena. With Wonder Woman nearly completed and Zack Snyder working hard on Justice League, attendees were treated to an early look at both films. Check out our coverage below.

Focus Features and Blumhouse Productions’ Insidious: Chapter 3 takes a trip back in time before the events of the demons that haunted the Lambert family. Leigh Whannell makes his directorial debut replacing James Wan, who left to direct Furious 7. Having already written and starred in the first two chapters, Whannell seemed like a natural fit to direct the third. However, in our roundtable interview the director revealed that there were some fears about coming on to a sequel that already has a deep mythology and a fanbase. He also talks about some of the difficulties of writing, directing, and acting simultaneously, the use of practical effects over CG, and meeting expectations. Hit the jump for the interview.

| WonderCon 2015: Top 5 Things You Need To Know Before Watching ‘Unfriended’ |

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions’ Unfriended has been making some major promotional rounds, and so far the film has gotten positive reviews. Though it’s already finished, the movie actually hasn’t been released yet, having already been screened at Fantasia Festival, SXSW, and most recently WonderCon in Anaheim. We were invited to talk to the cast of Shelley Hennig, Renee Olstead, Courtney Halverson, Jacob Wysocki, Will Peltz, Moses Jacob Storm, and Heather Sossaman, as well as the film’s writer, Nelson Greaves. During our interview we talked about social media, what makes the film so relatable, how a film that takes place over Skype can work, the production process, improv, and more. | WonderCon 2015: Blumhouse Scares Audiences With ‘Unfriended, ‘Insidious 3’, ‘The Gallows’Blumhouse Productions was on hand at WonderCon 2015 to give a sneak peek of their “found footage” thriller The Gallows; Unfriended, which takes place entirely over a Skype-esque chat; and Insidious 3, directed by Leigh Whanall, as well as to made a surprise announcement by showing some footage for Sinister 2. | WonderCon 2015: WB Presents ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ and ‘San Andreas |

This year’s WonderCon was a relatively quiet one considering it fell on Easter Weekend. Still, studios were generous enough to stop by and present some scenes for their upcoming Summer tentpoles. At the Warner Bros. panel, attendees were treated to some footage from Mad Max: Fury Road. Unfortunately director George Miller, and stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and Nicholas Hoult were unable to attend the event to talk about what is expected to be one of the biggest films of the Summer. However, the footage made up for their absence. The studio also presented Brad Peyton‘s disaster thriller San Andreas, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Carla Gugino, and Alexandra Daddario.
