| ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ To Hit Theaters In December 2019
It wasn’t too long ago that Lucasfilm was looking for a Star Wars: Episode IX director to replace the departed Colin Trevorrow. Now that we know J.J. Abrams will return to finish the trilogy he started with The Force Awakens, we are getting a few more details about the highly anticipated film. The film, which was originally slated for a May 2019 release, has now been pushed back all the way to December 2019. More on the story below.

| J.J. Abrams To Direct ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ |

Just last week, Colin Trevorrow exited as director on Star Wars: Episode IX over creative differences. The film left a small void that didn’t need to be filled in a hurry considering that Star Wars: The Last Jedi hasn’t been released yet. Now, that void has been filled. By none other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams. Lucasfilm hasn’t had a stable directing force ever since it was acquired by Disney. But they’ve been able to see three films all the way through with three directors. Abrams with The Force Awakens; Gareth Edwards – to a certain point – with Rouge One: A Star Wars Story, and Rian Johnson with the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In the past Josh Trank was forced out of another of the spinoffs due to his behind the scenes antics; Phil Lord and Chris Miller were let go due to creative differences on the still untitled Han Solo spinoff; and the same with Trevorrow on Episode IX. | ‘Westworld’ Season 2 SDCC Trailer: The Hosts Go On A Horseback Killing Spree
It’s still hard to imagine that we won’t be getting Season 2 of HBO’s Westworld this year. As disappointing as that sounds, Season 2 will premiere sometime in 2018. | ‘Overlord’: Release Date Set For Supernatural World War II Movie
A release date has been set for Overlord, which is described as a supernatural World War II thriller. An October 26, 2018 release date has been locked in for the movie, which comes from Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot. Starring is Jovan Adepo (Fences, The Leftovers) and Wyatt Russell (22 Jump Street, Everybody Wants Some!!). Directing is Julius Avery (Son of a Gun), from a scrip penned by Billy Ray (The Hunger Games, Captain Phillips) and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Vacancy).
