The X-Men: First Class films and The Wolverine have been tied together, with each of theme dropping an Easter egg that would lead up to a succeeding film by giving some sort of tip about a villain. At the time it wasn’t clear if Mr. Sinister would appear in a future installment of X-Men or one of its spinoffs. The character has had run-ins with the X-Men, Wolverine, and even Deadpool before. | After ‘Deadpool’ Success, ‘Wolverine 3’ May Be Rated R |
 |

In many ways, Deadpool proved that a rated R comic book movie could work and be a huge success at the box office. But given that a rated R movie is generally targeted for adults (or anyone over 17), it would be hard to at least make the same amount of box office coin as let’s say The Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s not to say just because it’s a little watered down in terms of the language and violence it isn’t as good, but if you want to your film to be as successful, you have to make sure it appeals to the masses. So by making it PG-13, you are doing just that. It’s easy to see why Guardians director James Gunn might be irate with some of the comments that have been made based on Deadpool‘s success, and it’s going to be no surprise at all to see studios try to copy the same formula. Seeing as the inevitable copying is close at hand, one has to wonder if Deadpool really is the exception to the rules. But if you have watched James Mangold‘s uncut version of The Wolverine, then you have your answer. That film was better than its theatrical cut, according to fans. So based on Deadpool‘s success, it’s easy to see why Fox might be considering giving Wolverine 3 an R-rating. According to a new report, they are doing just that. Check out the full story below.
