| The Farrelly Brothers Bring ‘Dumb and Dumber 2’ To Universal
We found out back in 2011 that the Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly were planning a sequel to their hit 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber with original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, which was later confirmed by the Farrellys. Since then the project has had ups and downs, from Carrey departing the project to Daniels saying it would begin production this summer to Warner Brothers deciding they would not be greenlighting the sequel. With all of that now in the past, the Farrelly brothers look to the future. After WB decided they didn’t want to make the movie, it was time to begin shopping it around to other studios who might be interested, and at least one of them was just that. | WB Unwilling To Give ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ The Greenlight

We’ve seen a couple of trailers before, and we got another trailer that focuses on the action of the film and the profitability of being a looper. In the trailer Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s character explains how a criminal organization takes advantage of the illegal practice of time travel. By making use of time travel, this organization is able to send their targets back in time where agents called loopers are there to shoot, kill, and dispose. We also get to see how much these loopers earn for their kills and what they use their blood money for. Let’s just say, they are living the high life. Things go swimmingly for Gordon-Levitt’s character, until his next target is revealed to be his future-self. For obvious reasons, this situation makes it a lot harder to kill the target and understand why you must kill it.

| Jeff Daniels Says ‘Dumb and Dumber’ Sequel Begins Production Next Summer
Despite what Jim Carrey has said about not being a part of the Dumb and Dumber sequel because of Warner Bros. lack of interest in getting the film into production. But during the Television Critics Association (TCA) panel for The Newsroom, Jeff Daniels said some interesting things that seem to contradict what Carrey has said in the past. Here’s the exact quote: “Oh sure, even more so now. Jim wants to do it. I want to do it. The Farrellys want to do it. They want to rewrite the script a little bit and they aren’t trying to jam it in before I have to go back and do “˜Newsroom’ in November. So they’re going, “˜Why don’t we just do it right? Let’s get everybody organized to go next May or June.’ If everything works out on the business side, that’s what we’ll do but I think there’s more hope than ever.”
