Spider-Man: Homecoming

Michael Giacchino is, without a doubt in my mind, one of the best composers for film and television working today. Last year alone saw him apply his inventive musical chops to the popular blockbuster hits Doctor Strange and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Well the man is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe this summer as he is providing the score for the much-anticipated Spider-Man: Homecoming. As a little treat to close out this unadulterated whirlwind of a week on the planet Earth, Giacchino has released a brief snippet from his Homecoming soundtrack, which he recently completed. Longtime fans of Marvel Comics’ friendly neighborhood superhero will very likely recognize this upbeat number.

Check it out below.

Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer

In the age of the superhero shared universe, Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is by far the youngest of them all. He’s just a kid in high school who is still learning the ropes, and if he wants to become someone like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), he’s going to have to learn how to play by the rules.

That’s what we see in the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming. The trailer actually premiered during CinemaCon 2017 last night, but Sony is just releasing it to the public now. So why don’t you check it out below.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture is a recurring villain in the Spidey-verse, but has never made an appearance in any of the films. Until now. Michael Keaton will be playing the winged villain in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming,, starring Tom Holland as the Webhead. Though most remember him as a genius who developed flight technology, audiences will be introduced a new variation of the character.

With a new trailer hitting the Internet tomorrow, we will probably find out more about him and why he is being considered a “Dark Tony Stark.” More on this story below.

Captain America Civil War Spider-Man Image

It’s hard to believe that Spider-Man is actually a part of the MCU. But here we are, and after Tom Holland delivered a fantastic performance as the Webslinger in Captain America: Civil War, we can look forward to Spider-Man: Homecoming with enthusiasm and joy. Part of that comes from the fact that Marvel Studios had a hand in creating the character to fit into the MCU narrative by giving his standalone film John Hughes vibes. This version of Spider-Man takes the character back to its comic book roots where Peter Parker is a high school student who is trying to balance out his life as a teenager while still being a hero.

Being a part of the MCU family means that you get to appear in other films outside your own. Whether that means being a part of a larger ensemble like The Avengers or making a simple cameo, Marvel gives their actors a multi-picture contract that gives them the chance to play around in just more than their own sandbox. And now we know just how many films Holland will appear in. According to a new report, the actor will appear in a total of six films. In other Spider-Man: Homecoming related news, Zendaya side-steps around those annoying Mary Jane Watson questions, and Michael Keaton is finally confirmed to be playing Vulture. Check out all these stories below.

Spider-Man: Homecoming title card

Spider-Man: Homecoming is easily one of the most anticipated MCU films to come next year. While yet another reboot based on the Webslinger could be a cause for concern, his introduction into the MCU via Captain America: Civil War cast the doubts that many of us had aside. Now as we look to the future, star Tom Holland will be our one and true Spider-Man.

Right in the middle of the MCU panel, Holland and director Jon Watts arrived to somewhat of a surprised crowd. Only because it wasn’t really clear if Marvel could show any footage from the film considering it still belongs to Sony. But now it’s clear. And just to make themselves feel right at home they previewed a tiny clip of what they have been shooting. Check out a brief description below. Oh, and yes. Vulture has been confirmed as the villain of the movie.
