“Hold onto your butts,” United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard (Samuel L. Jackson) proclaims as he and his squad act as a military escort for an expedition team that charts a newly discovered island. You may have heard that line before in Jurassic Park, but the anxiousness that swells over before the outcome is the same nonetheless. In fact, that’s the kind of feeling you get when watching Kong: Skull Island. The unconventional story of the King of the Monsters doesn’t rehash the story that has been retold countless times; instead, it focuses solely on the island itself and the monsters that inhabit it. Check out the full review below.

‘Kong Skull Island’ Trailer: There’s A Reason Why Kong Is King On This Island

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the upcoming Kong: Skull Island is that the film is a period piece, that takes place almost entirely on the titular island. Set in the 1970s, an expedition team sets out to chart the recently discovered island only to find out that there are dark secrets and scary beasts that roam the land.
Previous trailers pretty much set the narrative and loose connections to the King of Monsters universe, that Warner Bros and Legendary are creating, but now this new trailer is all about the action between the humans killing the oversized monsters and Kong, who is king of the island.
Check out the newest trailer below.

First Official ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Image Shows How Massive King Kong Might Be

When we found out that there was plans to make a Godzilla vs. King Kong movie, many wondered how Kong would stand a chance against Godzilla considering how insanely big the lizard was in the 2014 reboot. Clearly Kong was going to need a big size boost if they were going to make it interesting.
Then last month the size of the new Kong in the upcoming Kong: Skull Island was revealed to be around 100 feet. Though much bigger than the usual 25 to 50 feet, it was still nowhere Godzilla’s 350+ feet. Whether Godzilla vs. King Kong will ever get made is unknown. But for today we have the first official Skull Island image, and it offers an idea of just how huge Kong might be. It’s one thing for someone to say 100 feet. It’s another thing entirely to actually see what it might look like. Check out the image below.

King Kong Vs. Godzilla Set Up As ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Moves To WB

Two legendary beasts are about to fight for the title of King of Monsters once more. King Kong and Godzilla are set to appear in an untitled mega monster showdown over at Warner Bros. According to a new report, Kong: Skull Island will now be moving from Universal Pictures over to WB, so that the production house can have a shared monster universe under one nice studio.
With Legendary already owning the rights to Godzilla, the move makes plenty of sense, but it doesn’t make it any less surprising since Universal is losing yet another major property so that their competition can create a shared universe. More on the story below.

‘Kong: Skull Island’ Adds Another ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Star

Last weekend, Straight Outta Compton took the number one spot at the box office for the second week running, and looking at the schedule of films, it might take it again for a third. The success of that film will definitely help increase the actors’ stock with the film’s stars like Corey Hawkins, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Jason Mitchell likely to get more high profiled roles.
In fact, Hawkins has already been building himself to be a major star even before he landed the role of Dr. Dre by signing on for Universal and Legendary Pictures’ Kong: Skull Island. As the film prepares to shoot for a fall start date, there are new reports confirming that he will be joined by his fellow Straight Outta Compton co-star Mitchell. More on the story below.
