| Adaptation Of Stephen King’s ‘The Talisman’ In The Works
Another adaptation of one of the works of Stephen King is in the works. Amblin Entertainment is developing a take on The Talisman, the 1984 novel penned by King and Peter Straub. Amblin has brought in Josh Boone to get to work writing the adaptation, which follows a young boy on a quest to find a cure for his dying mother.

| ‘Stranger Things’ Star Joins ‘X-Men’ Spinoff ‘The New Mutants’
Another name has joined the cast of Fox’s X-Men spinoff X-Men: The New Mutants. Or just New Mutants. No one seems to know for sure. IMDb has it as the former. The trades seem to like the latter. Apparently we get to call it whatever we like. Personally, I’m going to call it Boo! A Madea X-Men Spinoff. Y’know, because it’s said to be a horror. Anyway, getting back on track. It’s being reported that Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton is in negotiations for a role in the spinoff. He joins the previously cast Anya Taylor Joy, Maisie Williams, and Rosario Dawson on the movie.

| ‘X-Men’ Spinoff ‘The New Mutants’ To Be A “Full-Fledged Horror” Film
Unlike the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the X-Men ensembles have been pretty straightforward comic book flicks. The Wolverine and Logan had their own sub-genres while Deadpool was a comedic superhero film. Now The New Mutants, another spinoff, will take on a genre that’s never been seen in any of the X-Men films or spinoffs. Director Josh Boone says it will be a “full-fledged horror movie,” and that they are trying to do something much different. Also, Rosario Dawson is in talks to have a leadership role in the film. | ‘New Mutants’: Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams Join ‘X-Men’ Spinoff
If the X-Men film franchise had one problem, it’s that it cannot close out a trilogy. Rebooting has proven to be what the franchise needs to be reinvigorated and draw new audiences in. And spinoffs like Wolverine and Deadpool have also shown us that X-Men properties with mature content can be successful. But now it’s time for a new class of mutants to grace the big screen. With New Mutants currently in development and scheduled for an April 2018 release, the film has started casting key roles. The first two to join are The Witch and Split‘s Anya Taylor-Joy and Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams. More on the story below.
