| Universal Schedules ‘Jurassic Park 4’ To Hit Theaters June 2014
We can finally put any and all Jurassic Park 4 speculation to rest as Universal Pictures has officially announced that the project has been greenlit and will be released on June 13, 2014. Of course with the 3D hype still going strong, the film will also be released in 3D. THR’s Borys Kit was one of the first to break the news. He adds that Steven Spielberg is attached to produce and that the search for a director is now on. Jurassic Park 4 will be based on a script, written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), that was turned in this week. While the impression that the Robopocalypse delay may hint at Spielberg returning to his beloved franchise, there is nothing to confirm that he is coming back. There is also no mention of a shortlist of directors, but the report does confirm that the search will commence next week.

| Geek Peek: Concept Art For The ‘Jurassic Park 4’ That Will Never Be
Sometime in the near (or far) future, we will be getting a Jurassic Park 4. Universal Pictures is very interested in continuing the very successful franchise with another film. The concept art (via Reddit) is quite interesting, revealing a dinosaur human hybrid. These genetically altered beings would have the capabilities of wielding firearms. Gives a whole new meaning to that infamous Jurassic Park quote “Clever girl.” While Universal continues to figure out how to bring Jurassic Park 4 to the big screen, these pieces of art by Carlos Huante reveal some very cool concepts, but one that probably wouldn’t work in a theatrical format.

Jurassic Park 4 has been a long, long, long-gestating project. It is actually surprising to see that we have gone through a movie without dinosaurs chasing humans as tasty morsels. But for those who have been waiting for so long, their patience has been rewarded. And depending on how you look at it, they have been rewarded in spades. According to Deadline, Universal has hired Rise of the Planet of the Apes writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver to pen the long-awaited Jurassic Park sequel.

| Will ‘Jurassic Park 4’ Be The Start Of A New Trilogy?
Word of a Jurassic Park IV has been around for a long time now. We’ve never seen it turn into any sort of a reality, but with how popular the movies have been, it’s an expected eventual chapter. At this very moment, there still is no official progress of the movie, but Jurassic Park III director Joe Johnston is saying that the movie is on the way, and that it could be a whole new trilogy. While speaking to Box Office, Johnston was cautious about where rumors of Jurassic Park IV had originated, but once he cozied up to the topic and was set up with mention that there was no way that they could logically go back to that island, he decided to fill everyone in on where it all stood.
