Doctor Who Series 7 continues in a story told from the perspective of the Ponds, the Earth has become plagued by the mysterious appearance of black cubes across the planet. The Doctor (Matt Smith) begins an investigation into the cubes, with the assistance of some old friends with UNIT, only to find… nothing!

The cubes offer no clues to their appearance, but the Doctor can’t shake the feeling that they represent a grave danger to humanity…

During TARDISblend 55, we discuss the penultimate Pond story in the Doctor Who universe entitled The Power Of Three, told completely from the perspective of Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill). We also take a look at the guest appearances in this episode, with Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) fulfilling the role of the daughter of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (played by Nicholas Courtney in the Classic Doctor Who series), and the surprising and fun cameos that showed up as well.

Doctor Who Series 7 continues as the Doctor (Matt Smith), travelling with Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), arrive in 1870 USA, in a remote town called Mercy. The town is a frightened populace, protecting an alien scientist, Doctor Kahler Jex (Adrian Scarborough), from a cybernetic weaponized being known only as The Gunslinger (Andrew Brooke).

As the Doctor investigates the odd situation further, he and his companions learn very quickly that not all is as it seems with the two aliens in the old wild west town, and are putting the population of Mercy in great danger…

During TARDISblend 54, we discuss the clues provided in this episode that may indicate the current season may be being played in a different chronological sequence than previously anticipated. We examine the evidence showing up in the series so far, to highlight more moments justifying our running theory.

Doctor Who Series 7 continues as a mysterious unknown spaceship is heading to Earth in the 24th century, and ISA needs the help of the Doctor (Matt Smith). Enlisting the help of the Ponds (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill), Queen Nefertiti (Riann Steele), and 19th century English explorer John Riddell (Rupert Graves from Steven Moffat‘s Sherlock), the Doctor also manages to drag Rory Williams’ father Brian (Mark Williams) along.

As they investigate the mysterious craft, they discover a surprise that creates more mystery than it does answers: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship

During TARDISblend 53, we examine the new characters and organizations introduced in this episode, as well as the evolution of Amy and Rory as companions as they transition towards their departure. We also discuss the fabulous quality CGI effects used on this episode for the dinosaurs, which was quite spectacular.

It’s finally here! Episode One of Doctor Who Series 7 has hit the screens, and the TARDISblend is here to review the Asylum of the Daleks. The Doctor (Matt Smith), Amy Pond (Karen Gillan), and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) are reunited after being captured by the Parliament of the Daleks. They are under threat from the Dalek Asylum, but fear intervening, deciding instead to forcibly send in “The Predator of the Daleks” aka the Doctor to eliminate the mad Daleks…

During TARDISblend 52, we take a look at the Parliament of the Daleks and the creepy unshelled Prime Minister, and debate the return (of lack thereof) of Classic Dalek Designs in this new premiere episode. We also discuss the major surprise of the episode, introducing a new character earlier than expected, which we’re STILL wondering how the BBC kept a secret until now.

The crossover of themes from Series 6 gets integrated into Asylum of the Daleks, and we examine Steven Moffat‘s approach to the longer overarching storyline across seasons, particularly to the question that should not be asked: “Doctor Who?” Finally, we compare Asylum of the Daleks to the impacts of previous season openers, and provide some Classic Doctor Who recommendations to our listners.

All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!
