| ‘Mary Poppins Returns:’ Emily Blunt Talks Not Impersonating Julie Andrews, Working With Lin-Manuel Miranda
Everyone has some sort of experience watching Mary Poppins in some form or another. Although it has been over half a century since Julie Andrews graced the screen as Poppins, the title character lives on in fans’ hearts and dreams. Now she’s back in Mary Poppins Returns. Well, the character, at least. This time Emily Blunt takes on the role made famous by Andrews in 1964. She brings back the warm charm and snark that fans know about the seemingly magical British nanny. We were fortunate enough to join our fellow journalists to talk to the cast about the sequel, where Blunt addressed what it was like to play the role and what she did to prepare for it. You’d be hard-pressed not to smile at anything from Mary Poppins Returns, including this new special look video Disney has released. Every new look continues to exude a sense of joy and delight. Though it has been decades since the first film starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke hit theaters, the sequel looks like it will carry on its legacy. This time, Emily Blunt stars in the title role and will care for the Banks family once more when their family has run into a bit of trouble again. | HBO To Co-Produce ‘His Dark Materials’ Series Based On Philip Pullman Books
HBO already has one massive fantasy series in Game of Thrones, but now they’re adding another one. Though it’s not theirs exclusively. It’s being reported that HBO has reached a deal to co-produce the BBC series His Dark Materials, which is based on author Philip Pullman‘s book trilogy of the same name. The report says that the series is likely one of the biggest and most expensive British series ever made.
