Last night’s Lip Sync Battle split apart the “Push It” duo, Salt-N-Pepa! Cheryl “Salt” James performed Kelly Clarkson’s pop rock anthem, “Since You Been Gone.” And she was adorable! She really showed us another side. Take it from LL. LL Cool J: Who knew you were a pop diva? Then it was Sandra “Pepa” Denton‘s turn to strut on the stage with legs for miles, with Katy Perry’s “Firework.” Nice job!

Thursday nights Lip Sync Battle, kept it all in the family, as Derek Hough battled little sis, Julianne Hough. Both professional dancers, the brother and sister are also on Dancing With The Stars together. At first I was like, “Well… I know Dancing With The Stars is popular, even though I love So You Think You Can Dance way more… so eh.” But I should have known that professional dancers, used to choreographing spectacular productions with less than professional dancers, would put on a show. Woohoo! That’s how you do a lip sync show! Thursday night’s Lip Sync Battle pitted Malin Akerman Vs. Stephen Merchant, and the competition was fierce. Akerman brought the severely sexy, and Merchant brought the “I wish I was sexy.” But you know what? He is so funny that it is kinda sexy. Touted as the veteran of the show, he definitely has the advantage. Executive producer Merchant invented the game along with executive producer John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, first appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where it took off.
