New ‘Clash Of The Titans’ Banners & Poster

Clash Of The Titans bannerNew banners and poster for Louis Letterier‘s Clash Of The Titans remake have been released, all of which show off the film’s new April 2, 2010 release date and 3D status.

Check out the four new banners and one new poster here below; visit UGO for the high-res versions.

The four banners show the legendary characters in action, so if you know your Greek mythology, you’ll appreciate how well these were put together. The new poster is of the Kraken sea monster in mid-roar trying to take a chomp at the Pegasus-riding Perseus.

I’ve said it with the trailers, now I’ll say it with the poster — too much Kraken! Don’t get me wrong, nothing against the Kraken, but there’s a whole new generation of moviegoers who’ve never seen the original Clash, so why reveal so much in the promo items? It almost feels like they’re trying to show fans of the original movie that they haven’t strayed too far, like, ‘Hey, look here’s the Kraken, we didn’t forget him, we’re releasing him, we got all the Kraken you need!’ And now we have ‘Look, it’s 3D Kraken!’

Clash of the Titans

There’s nothing not to be excited about for action fantasy fans when it comes to Louis Leterrier‘s remake of Clash of the Titans. The movie has all the promises of becoming an exciting, fast-paced adventure within the realms of Greek Mythology with all of the crazy creatures and struggles that come with it.

To add to this excitement, a brand new International trailer for the movie has been released courtesy of IGN, and you can check it out below! Unlike the first couple of trailers that we the Americans were given, the International peek shows off Liam Neeson as Zeus, father of Perseus (Sam Worthington), as well as evil god of the Underworld, Hades (Ralph Fiennes), who looks more normal than I expected and sounds strangely similar to the Ephors in 300.

Clash of the Titans

Hey, remember that time that director Louis Leterrier told us that his upcoming Clash of the Titans wouldn’t do that 3D thing that everyone else was doing? (Read: Director Louis Leterrier Wants “˜The Avengers’; “˜Clash Of The Titans’ Will NOT Be 3D) Yeah, well, we were lied to.

Whether Leterrier thought it would happen or not, Warner Brothers has decided that they will indeed give the film the cheap $5 million 3D makeover before releasing it. The studio has also decided that both parts 1 and 2 of their massive franchise-closing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows would also get a release in 3D. The news was first reported by MarketSaw, who are getting all of the big scoops in this realm of film making, and then later confirmed by the trades, who once again gave no credit.

Clash of the Titans

For some reason it feels like this is earlier than expected, but without any one complaint from anyone, Yahoo! Movies has been given the honor of sharing with us the very first official teaser trailer for Louis Leterrier‘s brand new vision of the 1981 mythological fantasy classic, Clash of the Titans.

The movie follows Perseus (Sam Worthington), a man born from the gods, but who was raised as a regular mortal. He eventually discovers his true pedigree and finds out that Hades (Ralph Fiennes), God of the Underworld, is preparing to forcefully take over his brother Zeus’s (Liam Neeson) power and kingdom so that he can wreak havoc on the heavens and the Earth. Being Zeus’s child and with nothing else to solidify his legacy, Perseus volunteers to lead a mighty band of warriors through the unholiest of lands to fight some of the most evil beings known to man and try and stop Hades and his plans.

Jon Favreau Not Directing ‘The Avengers’; Talks Tying ‘Iron Man’ & Others Together

Of all of the Marvel superhero movies that will fuse into each other on May 4, 2012 when The Avengers is released, Jon Favreau‘s Iron Man (and soon to be Iron Man 2) is probably the universal favorite. The director’s careful handling of the character and wonderful job of adding a sense of realism for us all to relate to made him the unanimous choice of fans worldwide to take up the reigns and direct The Avengers, and it was one of the big questions in recent times. Favreau recently spoke to MTV about the whole thing, and confirmed that he would unfortunately not be directing the ultimate superhero movie, and also about the task of bringing all of these larger-than-life characters together in one movie.

While in Bora Bora for a Couples Retreat junket, Favreau made it quite clear that he would not be directing Avengers because he will not be available to do it. No word on exactly what he’s doing that will be taking up his time in 2012 (though that end of the world thing may take up some schedules), but one has to imagine that as a director, he doesn’t want to get stuck in one genre forever.

Favreau also went on to talk about the difficulty in taking all of these comic characters with their own big movies, and putting them into one giant movie. He seemed particularly concerned with his Iron Man efforts being handled by someone else.
