Titans

Not too long ago, a bunch of new images from some big upcoming movies invaded the inter-webs; one of which was a magazine cover featuring Sam Worthington in the new Clash of the Titans. As it turns out, this cover wasn’t the end of the rainbow — this issue of Empire magazine held many more images from the movie, and they’re pretty fantastic. Entertainment Weekly also has a few new behind the scenes images, which give us our very first look at Liam Neeson as the God of Thunder himself, Zeus! (Shown at right, click to go big)

As for the official images in Empire, they’re really our first glimpse at scenes from the film. You get a good feel of that raw and gritty war tone the movie looks to have, and better yet, you’ll see some of the creatures being featured, and they look very good. You can really see in all of the pictures that director Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) wants to deliver this legendary fantasy tale in realistic fashion — especially in the Zeus image. We’re used to Zeus being portrayed in his giant, presence of a god form, with white hair and a lightning bolt in hand; not as a warrior dressed in armor. You can’t help but become ultra-twitchy to get a peek at Ralph Fiennes as Hades after seeing these…not that you weren’t already!

Titans

A party bag of new images from some big time new movies have been released all over the ‘net today. The images are basically just some sneaky behind the scenes shots of filming, but they’re our very first look at these movies, which makes them pretty exciting. There’s also a new image of Sam Worthington from Louis Leterrier‘s Clash of the Titans from Empire, which you can see at right!

The first movie we’re getting our first good look at is The Green Hornet. Splash News has a collection of pictures from filming, and they show writer/producer/star Seth Rogen as the Hornet himself, along with sidekick Kato, played by Jay Chou. As you can tell, they’re being pretty faithful to the look of the characters, so fans should be pretty excited.

Clash of the Titans

Recently we got our very first look at Australian actor Sam Worthington as Perseus in the upcoming Louis Leterrier-directed mythology-based, Clash of the Titans (Read: Geek Peek: Sam Worthington As Perseus In ‘Clash Of The Titans’). That image ended up being straight from the pages of Empire Magazine, but now we have another new image from the pages of Entertainment Weekly!

The two images that we’ve seen so far are not too much different from one another, but both openly lay claim to a gritty, rugged, dark, and violent mythological adventure in our futures. We can only hope that the visuals that we are seeing here lead to a movie that’s as good as these look.

Clash of the Titans tells the tale of Perseus, the son of Zeus (Liam Neeson) who was born a god, but raised a man. When Hades (Ralph Fiennes), god of the underworld, sets off on a plan to over-throw his brother Zeus, claim power for himself, and destroy the Earth — Perseus volunteers to lead a group of warriors through endless amounts of horrible creatures to find and defeat Hades before it is too late.

Titans

The very first non-set image from Louis Leterrier‘s Clash of the Titans reboot has been discovered. No one seems to know where the image came from, but /Film has gotten their hands on the picture which shows exploding Aussie star Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation, Avatar) as Perseus doing battle with some wretched creature. Click the image at right to see a little sample, click the link to go see the full image!

It’s not a whole lot to go on, but if I had to make a snap-judgment on it, it’s hard to deny that this tells me that they really have the right look and tone going for them. We can only hope that it’s like this throughout the production and that we’re in for some kick-ass mythological action on March 26, 2010 when the movie is released.

In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

Titans

The new remake of epic Greek mythology-based Clash of the Titans by The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier has officially started filming near London. The title is one of many new projects that had recently been announced that are based on the popular tales involving the many gods of Greek mythology. Titans begins their forward progress with a destination release date of March 26, 2010. The script written by Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi (Æon Flux) is based on Clash of the Titans (1981).

The movie stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation, Avatar) as Perseus; Liam Neeson (Taken, Gangs of New York) as Zeus; Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter, In Bruges) as Hades; Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia) as Io; and Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, King Arthur) as Draco.

To offer up just a taste of what we might be in store for, a few images were taken in Spain of one of the sets that will be used in the movie. All things considered, it’s a pretty damn impressive set piece. You can see one of the images above — click to go large. Head on over to Loque Pasa En Tenerife to see the rest of them.
