Marvel will be putting their faith in the final acts of Phase 3 on Anthony and Joe Russo. The sibling directors are returning to direct Captain America: Civil War, and are nearly confirmed to helm The Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel’s two-part of Phase 3. But in the midst of all of this is Spider-Man. Now that Sony is willing to share the character with their rival studio, Marvel can now fully integrate the character into the MCU.

Though final creative control of the webslinger will remain with Sony, Marvel will still have some input, and now it looks like they are finally making the first move to introduce an actor to replace Andrew Garfield. The first actor to audition for the role is Weeds star Mateus Ward.
