‘The Batman’ Is Said To Focus On The Dark Knight’s Formative Years
Origin stories may be a thing of the past. Most moviegoers do not want to have to sit through the same old reasons some tragedy helps a person become the titular hero. And it looks like we won’t see that in Matt Reeves‘ The Batman.
According to new reports, the film, which is currently in development and has just signed on Robert Pattinson to play Batman, will center on the Dark Knight’s formative years as a hero as opposed to retreading familiar ground. More on the report below.

Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult On Shortlist To Play Batman In Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’
After Ben Affleck had a short stint as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Justice League, the actor hung up the cape and cowl for good, leaving Matt Reeves to look for another person to play the Dark Knight in the next standalone film, The Batman.
Now there are some conflicting reports on who might be up for the role. One report is saying that Twilight, Cosmopolis, and Maps to the Stars actor Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to become the new Batman in the superhero detective noir film, while another report says that Pattinson is on the shortlist alongside Mad Max: Fury Road actor Nicholas Hoult. Batman may be known as “The World’s Greatest Detective,” but the cinematic iterations of the character have failed to live up to that moniker. However, The Batman director Matt Reeves wants to change all of that by giving us “a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale.”
