A new writer is set to take on Summit Entertainment’s remake of the 1986 fantasy favorite, Highlander, which tells the story of a group of immortals who can only kill each other via decapitation, and acquire their foe’s powers whenever they take their life.
The studio has entered into negotiations with Melissa Rosenberg to craft the latest draft of the script, which has seen a few writers work on it already. Rosenberg is best known for her work on The Twilight Saga, where she penned the scripts for Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and both parts of Breaking Dawn
This may make Highlander fans uneasy and worried about a remake they likely don’t even want to see to begin with, but fear not. While the Twilight franchise is a painful blemish on cinematic history, Rosenberg has some much better credits to her name, namely the eleven episodes of Dexter that she has written.
