| Amidst Kristen Stewart Scandal, Summit Moves Forward With ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2’ As PlannedBy now anyone familiar with The Twilight Saga has heard about the scandal involving star Kristen Stewart, who had a little fling with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders while still being very much involved with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson. Obviously the news did not go over well with the series’ rabid fanbase, leading many to wonder whether Stewart’s actions might cause severe damage to the Twilight franchise going forward. With only one movie left, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, which was expected to deliver massive box office numbers, it suddenly became quite complicated to promote the movie as necessary. But, according to Summit Entertainment, they’re moving on as planned.

| SDCC 2012: First 7 Minutes Of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2’ ShownThe Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 will bring The Twilight Saga film franchise to a close and its cast and crew were on hand today in Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con to present the first seven minutes from this highly anticipated final installment. Director Bill Condon couldn’t be on the panel because he’s currently scoring the film in London, but to treat the fans for what will be the film franchise’s final appearance at Comic-Con, he introduced the first 7 minutes of the film, beginning right where Breaking Dawn: Part 1 left off with Bella (Kristen Stewart) opening her eyes. Although, that might not seem like much, for fans who are clamoring to see any bit of new Twilight footage they can, those few seconds were enough to hold them over… for a few days. | Lionsgate Acquires Summit Entertainment; Hints At More ‘Twilight Saga’
It was announced Friday that Lionsgate had completed an acquisition of Summit Entertainment for a grand total of $412.5 million. And while that sounds like a lot of coin, the purchase comes with a little franchise called The Twilight Saga, which has already inexplicably brought in over $2.5 BILLION in worldwide box office…as we can only look on, stunned, shaking our heads. The one great thing (for said stunned head-shaking public, anyway) about The Twilight Saga was the fact that we knew that after they drew it out as long as possible and milked every penny they could out of their fans, it would be done and over with. Such a silly thing for us to hope for.
