Polish blackened death metal legends Behemoth have just released a Hellish and surreal clip for the third single from their critically-acclaimed masterpiece The Satanist.

The video is for the track “Messe Noire” and is a tribute to the art of the late, great H.R, Giger who passed away last year. Giger’s ties to the metal community were deep rooted and Behemoth offer a tip of the hat to his Hellish visions in the new clip.

Goatwhore Band Photo

New Orleans’ blackened thrash band Goatwhore arose from the ashes of two of that city’s most legendary bands. When Acid Bath broke up, guitarist Sammy Duet hooked up with former Soilent Green singer Ben Falgoust, guitarist Ben Stout, bassist Patrick Bruders, and drummer Zak Nolan. They took their moniker from an Aleister Crowley ritual involving goat semen (don’t ask!). Over the course of the last 18 years, Goatwhore has delivered 6 albums of the most brutal black thrash ever conceived. The band’s unrelenting assault both live and on record has garnered them a rabid following that continues to grow.

Here, with the opening track of their fourth album, 2009’s Carving Out the Eyes of God, is Goatwhore with their anthem “Apocalyptic Havoc.”

Release date: August 5, 2014

2014 has been such an amazing year in the world of metal with so many exceptional releases that I was starting to think that I might never have to sit through a sub-par record again. Then, along comes this.

Wovenwar is the band that has risen from the ashes of one of Christian metal’s most prominent bands As I Lay Dying. In one of the biggest scandals to ever rock the metal community, AILD singer Tim Lambesis was arrested in May of 2013 for attempting to hire an undercover San Diego cop to kill his estranged wife. Lambesis was sentenced to six years in prison for that conspiracy earlier this year. For details on that story click here.
